I recently started a thread to seek out anyone interested in the MotoGP (Motorcycle Grand Prix)
There are a few covers members that seem interested as well as few avid followers. With a little bit of feedback I was encouraged to start this thread and I hope everyone will except a little section for us Motorcycle fans here in the Nascar Forum.
Everything else aside.....
MOTOGP IS FINALLY BACK!
With so many question marks going into this weekends events I feel quite confident we can find some great value. The new Open class should be quite interesting as well as the new rules and regulations which should help tighten up the pack (in theory).
I encourage anyone who wants to get into the sport to come on here and ask questions! The point of this is to generate a wider fan base as well as bringing current fans together!
Really looking forward to discussing this weekends upcoming event with everyone.
Thanks guys

World Champion Marc Marquez suffered a broken leg just under 6 weeks ago but will still race this weekend
Rookie Pol Espargaro suffered a broken collarbone in the final Test of 2014 (roughly 2 weeks ago)
Most wagers wont appear until a day or two before race weekend or even race day depending on your Book. Bwin is great for MotoGP betting. They usually offer
-earlier lines
-wider range of bets
-better lines
I also use Bet365, WilliamHill, and Ladbrokes.

I find when it comes to wagering in this sport having multiple books is essential. I cant stress how important it is over the length of the season. Some will offer different head to head matchups. Some will offer drastically different odds than others. This can help you insure your getting the best possible value for your dollar. Another good thing to realize and I`m sure its similar when it comes to NASCAR is that what happens in Practice and Qualifying drastically changes the odds of the Race. Therefore trying to gauge certain wagers before the weekend begins and anticipating line changes can be very beneficial.
With all that being said it leads me to my first wager of the weekend.
Daniel Pedrosa to Win Race +550 20/110
Bet Placed 17/03/2014 @Bwin
This is just absolutely ridiculous. First off every other book I've checked has him anywhere from +300 - +350. That alone is enough to be a sheer value play at +550. Value aside Danny is a proven winner. Not to mention he has the 2nd fastest bike in all of the premier class. We know hes not the fastest rider as that title goes to Marquez and Lorenzo. But question marks are surrounding both these guys going into Sunday. Marquez and his broken league and Lorenzo struggling to adjust to the new bike in testing. I still believe Danny should be around +250-+350 just because he is the proven third fastest when everyones healthy. And thats just it. Everyones not healthy or in game shape. Just to much value to pass up on him in the opening race of the year this weekend

Well that's great to hear we got a veteran in the sport! This will be my second year betting as well. Hopefully together we can make some cash!
The Pedrosa pick is looking really solid after the first practice session. I nailed my prediction so far which adds some confidence. Lots of head shaking from Lorenzo (yamaha blames the conditions) and Marquez looked very timid as that broken leg isn't even close to 100%. Dani was the fastest factory bike out there today which is also a very good sign of him being ready for race day.
How about the open bikes though?? Qualifying should be a real treat this year with the new tire specifications for each class. I expect the race will still come down to the factory bikes as all of them should be running the harder option tire.

The only thing that scares me of Pedrosa pick is that he never won in Qatar before. The last 2 years Lorenzo won both races, and the year before Stoner. If Lorenzo bike get better(and he always hets competitive for the race, even if he struggles in qualifics) Pedrosa won't probably be able to keep up with him. Rossi and Marquez are also a threat ofc...well let's hope well!I 'm with you on this one.

I totally agree.
Lorenzo won't look fast until Sunday. Thats usually the case with him. Although I cant say I wasnt shocked to not see him crack the top 10 in practice. Goes to show what a difference maker running the soft option is.
Pedrosa bothers me for the same reasons. Also last years race it looked as if he had given up letting Val pass him late in the race. I just believe that he has a way better shot than +550 and the new odds are reflecting that. It set me up to be in a great position to bet 1 and maybe even 2 more riders and be able to profit if one of them hits.
Have you seen the odds for Aleix Espargaro to win? I dont think he should be anywhere near as favored as he is. He wont be able to run the soft option....will he? I mean it wont last over 15-20 laps....or am I missing something?
Heres the updated odds for race day
(bwin)
Marquez +250
Espargaro +350
Pedrosa +375
Lorenzo +400
Rossi +800

Why not take advantage of good fortunes? Both of these wagers are to help boost my win probability this weekend. Obviously I will still be cheering for my original Pedrosa bet but this allows me to take away an immense amount of risk. Obviously a Rossi win would be devastating but I just dont see him beating all 3 of these guys in Qatar, especially after his lackluster performance the last 2 days. I didnt mention Espargaro because frankly he doesnt need to be. If he runs a soft tire and successfully completes the race I may be eating my words....but I highly doubt that

Hmm this strategy could be correct...for now i'm sticking to Pedrosa, too much confusion right now with all the talks about tires that don't work and injuries...i think the qualifics will clear many doubts here, pilots will finally be exposed to give all they have... For the qualifics,no bet ofc for now

Funny you say that. I kind of disagree with your thoughts about qualifying as I just don't think it will clear any doubts. These open riders will have a distinct advantage all the way up till the race. Being able to run the soft option in qualifying gives them a massive advantage.
Aleix is - 166 in qualifying for a reason.
I agree there is tons of confusion going on right now and I still believe dani has a great shot at winning. My idea is that come race time when they all are running the hard option tire we will finally get to see a level playing ground. Sure some of the factory riders if not all will have to weave their way to the front of the pack but, I'm confident they will do so.
Dovi has hinted already that most if not all will be running the hard option on race day.

Just a hunch. Was much quicker than anyone else in practice and I don't see the other guys closing the gap in qualifying today. Not the biggest of wagers. But I'm not in it for the cash.
Probably more to come.

Ah well such is motogp
No moto2 or 3 bets for me as I havent started following it yet. I like all those bets man though! Rossi to beat smith may be a bad line just due to where Rossi has to start. I hope Jorge doesnt win the race for your sake though! He hasnt looked like his former self yet so that could be a good thing

This one had it all guys. Lead changes, crashes, surprise showings. Just unreal. Rossi and Marquez battled to the finish line with lead change after lead change. Man I love motorcycle racing.
MoreGeezer - Cant believe Bautista went down with 2 laps to go.....took away a very sweet day for us. Still the excitement was well worth it
