First, I need to give NASCAR credit where it's due. My guess was they would do nothing, instead they righted a clear wrong.
I think Vickers, Truex and Boyer all got docked to send a message to all the Drivers for all the teams that teamwork and gamesmanship are two different things.
Today there's talk that Logano's team supposedly approached Gilliland's about David letting Joey by (which he did on the restart). This one passed car gave Logano just enough to make the chase. Very interesting but I'd guess there's not enough time to complete an investigation.
Clearly NASCAR has a scandal on their hands that's not going away. Even the Broadcasters will feel obligated to address this the first couple of races. If one of the participants should happen to win the championship get ready for the asterisk*.
I'm guessing after the season's over NASCAR will communicate with every team demanding that shjt like this never happens again.
Everyone competing in NASCAR tests the rules. Some cross a line and get caught. This goes beyond the pail because it's not about gaining an edge for yourself, it's about much more than that.
It never should have happened.
