The new Chase format is brilliant!

Imagine they used to race 36 point races. This new format is perfect except wins should give you bonus points in every next round including the final but of the cars that make Homestead a win should get the Championship regardless of points. Logano and Harvick are racing for nothing at Talladega. They need to avoid a race for nothing scenario.

They finally figured out a way to keep Jimmie Johnson from winning the championship. To me its more a lottery than anything. But whatever.

One the other hand I did enjoy the after math at Charlotte so unlike Kenseth.

It's Bullshittttt  the main reason I think it's Stupid is u could have a driver win 9 straight races then get to H.stead cut a tire, engine failure and he doesn't win the Championship!!!
Harvick, Logano, Gordon    could win m.ville,Texas, and Phoenix 3 straight wins then run bad at h.stead and not win the Championship    2 me it's more of a lottery at H.stead 
let Newman finish 4th at M.ville, 7th at Texas, 4th at Phoenix point his way thru to H.stead    then at h.stead the race comes down to fuel mileage bowyer wins, Truex 2nd and Newman finishes 3rd  wins the cup!!!! Nascar will b Going

Everything about it is good. Only change that needs to be made is giving more of an emphasis to regular season points and wins in the Chase. Last race should be a 4 man winner take all. However if one of those 4 don't win then points have to play a more important role starting with the regular season and bonus points.

I think today should be the breaking point for a large majority of NASCAR fans. 88,48 and 2 getting knocked out will cause a minor uprising.

The longer Newman and Kenseth stay in, the worse it looks for the sport.

It definitely is a great format too I agree...of course only Stats wouldnt like it lol

Tony Stewart could win it all in that format though even if he didn't win the first 9 races...that's boner talk there :)

What's amazing about this format is that guys like Edwards, Gordon and Hamlin can just ride around in the back and still advance. They clearly were not trying to win today. New respect for Kahne, Newman and Kenseth that actually have a set and race. If the 2 or 4 wins, the format will still have served its purpose, as the best car will have won the title, but NASCAR will have a huge problem if Kenseth or Newman wins the title without a win.

agree 100%    If 2,4,22, or 24 win championship nascar will b  But if 11,20,31, or 99 win nascar will b

I love it.  Pats went 18-0 only to lose in the SB to the Giants.  They all know how it shakes down so its the same for everyone.  Go hard or go home at Homestead!

I love the format....I can assure you that if Edwards Gordon or Hamlin had a big points lead under the old system they would have still been riding around at the back and protecting their point lead just as they did Sunday at  Dega. Heck thats what we've been used to watching for years.There is no point lead now and all of the guys I just mentioned will be racing their a s s off this weekend trying to win  and advance to the Final.. Speaking of the final I think its going to be Great!!  

I love it.

My boy is out of the playoffs no different than my Sucka s s Sooners Lol....But I'll still be watching because Im a true fan. I do agree with Greedybastard somewhat with alot of casual fans turning off Nascar since the 88,48,5 etc.. have been knocked out but for the true fans like us in this forum I think its awesome that going into the final race we could have a possible "Cinderella" with no wins car make it to the Final Four but like most Cinderella stories end I think they will be bounced in the Final.

We'll see I guess.

I think NASCAR is just trying yo sell tickets. Is it fair that maybe the best team doesn't win? Maybe not but I find myself more excited to watch the races this time of the year than have been for the last few.

I just read that Harvick just sold a house for $8 mil. Life is still good for the NASCAR drivers.
