I haven't watched the NBA the last couple years. Just recently tuned in to a few playoff games and have seen multiple 20+ point leads blown. Is it officiating, undisciplined players, poor coaching, or all of the above? Just mind boggling the huge swings I've seen in just a few games I've watched the last 2 weeks.

It's definitely a constant theme in basketball, especially the NBA. I actually hate it when a team is up 20 points at the half if they are a double digit favorite as they are guaranteed to take the foot off the gas too early. You want the team to start pulling away LATE in the 3rd.
As soon as teams get up big they stop playing hard and take lazy long range jumpers. Add in the dozen timeouts teams get and the TV timeouts and there's nearly endless opportunities for momentum to shift back the other way.
Seriously, why does a sport with 4 divided quarters need for teams to have so many timeouts? Compared to soccer they have one stoppage all game - halftime, that's it.

do what i do and start betting inflated spreads when a score is lopsided at halftime. The sixers are notorious for blowing double digit leads. Even putting a small bet on some live ML can pay off since comebacks happen all the time. I hit 2 nice ones a couple weeks ago: Jazz-Clippers and Jazz-Warriors. Utah choked huge leads away in both games

3 point shot… has lot to do with it. Teams are just jacking up the 3 in this era than they used to in the 90s early 2000s. That’s a big reason why, you have literally anyone on the team that will and make 3 point shots which cut down a lead in a heart beat. Down 20, you hit 3 3s in a row and other team misses you’re down 11 just like that. That’s why you see teams coming back down 20-25 points, because of faster play, quicker shots and nobody plays half court offense anymore.

Timeouts so Vegas can control the game. Why do most games ending close to the points spread? Because of all the timeouts they call to setup plays. It’s all bout the Benjamin n system

I have been saying this for a while. Teams played defense years ago (put effort on both ends of court). Teams these days "shoot themselves" out of leads...NO D. I see it all the time, for example...Teams get up and here is the script...they dont play D...they turn the ball (unforced)...they jack up 3's instead of driving to the basket...The Clippers did this the other night and Mr Lue never called a timeout to smack these prima-donnas in the head and remind them of these fundamentals...sorry to rant,,,but I totally agree
