6-12 last 18 plays. I'm sitting on a cold bucket of ice lately. Tail at your own risk.
My angle here, both teams are on 2 days rest, both teams are great on 2 days rest. Will we say Amen and see some defense from 2 refreshed teams that are better rested? Especially in a pivotal game 7, where every possession "should" be contested and every player "should" leave everything they got out on the floor?
So why did the over hit 6 in a row....
both teams score, score often, run a fast pace, and both their offensive sets remind me of street ball. Defense gets put on the back burner w/ both these squads. So much pace and hustle on the offensive side has these guys getting back down court "lazy" style.
Then the hacka crap...time stands still where free 1 pt shots are granted. An under killer.
So why go under 1st Quarter today?
1. Game 7, championship type atmosphere will have these guys putting more emphasis on all areas of the game, including DEFENSE.
2. 2 days rest will have them fresh to get back on defense, energy will be high early.
3. REFS Mauer and Brothers are known to eat their whistle, they let the guys play(less ft's, clock keeps running) Brothers is 12-16 on totals of 205+. Mauer is 11-20 on totals of 205+. Callahan not so much, 14-12.
4. Jitters...high pressure game for both teams. Early jitters can affect shooting, guys may need a few possessions to get their rhythm going, I'm hoping the first 5min are sloppy.
5. I dont see any of the teams resorting to the hacka jordan or hacka howard this early*fingers crossed*
6. Just a gut feel...these teams should feel each other out early. I hope to see more ball movement and yes, less selfish play. Something that hasn't been the forte of these 2 teams all series. Let's get a tight game, let's see text book B Ball please. NOT....undisciplined, unpredictable, street style ball.
