Listen to Baron Davis comments on Sterling and he effect he had over his play and he teams play when he is present over the years .Could be why he Clip have been a underperformer in the playoffs in recent years .Distractions are always a cause for teams to lose focus, , I would think that this team would be affected by all this bad press ,add to that . GS is in a must must win at home today ,which is always a dangerous spot for opposing teams .This series especially for me even before the sterling thing,I thought that GS only shot was to win this game at home .Most matchups ,I don't feel must wins so early in the series Clip will find a way to win the series but today the series gets even 2-2

As far as the Clips go, I agree completely.
This situation reminds me so much of the Hawks and their tanking at the end of the year (or what we thought was tanking).
Everyone (including myself) thought the Hawks were dead and buried as they dropped to a tie with the Knicks for 8th (my pick vs. the Cavs said it all), all while Danny Ferry (not an owner but someone in management) said we don't care about the 8th seed. Now if management doesn't care, how can the players care? They do of course and continue to play on regardless of drafts and the like (just like the Jazz did in the last game of the season in the Wolves debacle to 'almost' lose the 4th pick, which as you noted, they ended up getting).
Then with the entire world watching, thinking they would fold quickly, and even purposely tank, the Hawks beat some excellent teams to close out the season (teams they couldn't have beaten at one point even if those teams sat their stars) and are now at 2-2 vs. Indy in a 1-8 match-up that is going at least 7.

What does the world expect the Clippers to do here?
Tank because it would hurt the guy that owns them (much like it would hurt Ferry in the management position although in this situation, it goes to the top of the mountain in Sterling, not the middle of it).
But like the Hawks, I think the players have something different in mind.
They will win and they will win in spite of Sterling as you said.
What he said on that tape was SO offensive (and go back and give it a listen, it is deep south Civil Rights era talk without the direct slurs!), I think the only way you counter it is not with a statement to the press, but performance in your craft. Take your aggression out with what you do best at. Bring attention to the issue by winning and making the Clippers a bigger national story than they already are. And the media spotlight will burn so bright it will tan Sterling's sour puss frowning face darker than a beat up leather sofa.
It would make for such an outstanding media circus if the Clippers continued to win while the very same man who defamed the race of those he pays on the court continued to perform in spite of him.
And what do we have as a bonus in our back pocket?
Ubuntu which means, "humanity towards others".
Isn't this tremendous?
Doc Rivers who won a championship with the Ubuntu philosophy (and make no mistake talent was not enough to win in 2008, Rivers and his unifying coaching philosophy was vital as the players have said many, many times), is now coaching the very team that has an owner who showed NO humanity towards his own team.
How do the players respond? By doing the opposite and winning on the court.
They discussed a boycott of the playoffs.
What did they choose? To keep playing.

If you keep playing, what is the one thing you want to do to counter what has been said. Win. Why? Because the pursuit of a championship, for the players not the owner, heals wounds. Why sit home and stew and still be pursued by the media about this when you can win on the court at your job, pursue a ring and be pursued by the media about this every minute of every day anyway?
Winning keeps this issue alive too.
The longer the Clips play on, the more focus and embarrassment will be brought to the team owner.
Another layer of intrigue which heightens this: Chris Paul is the president of the NBA player's union and will be the voice box of the players in the coming days with regard to their perspectives.
Does he want to do it address the controversy:
1) After being eliminated from the playoffs?
2) While pursuing a championship?
2) is the obvious choice as his words would be given more credibility (what psychologists call a 'halo effect' from your performance carrying over to your opinion).
And if he doesn't want to address it (and who would), winning keeps it further away from you till a later date.

I think today will be the huge litmus test for all of what I said and what you said. Beat the Warriors in a must-win game for GS convincingly and you will show the world what you are bringing to the table in these playoffs.
If they win convincingly today, I'm going to buy up some action for them to win the West, just to take a shot at it.
Big Bonus: The Spurs and OKC have obvious problems and I would be BIG on the Clips for a great series price if Memphis takes out OKC (which we almost got last night if they went up 3-1, and I REALLY hope that happens at the series price would be very reasonable) in a huge revenge match-up after they knocked them out last year.
I was going to be on GS today, but not after this. I will load up later if the Clips convince me they have what it takes to use this controversy as a protest instead of something that demoralizes. I looked to GS to have all the momentum in their comeback and then 'no-call' to end the game but now the focus has shifted. This next game will be the test for the Clips. Win convincingly after all they will go far especially since the West's biggest dogs are having trouble with the 7th and 8th seeds (who are very good teams but not nearly as good as who they are up against).
This may be what brings back all the bacon from the Hawks (for me) and the Jazz (for you) debacle with a very similar storyline: "Players win to spite the higher ups!"
Today may be the start of something very good BB. Very good in terms of riding this Clips team as a cash train. Win convincingly today and show up how you get off the canvas.
Let's see how the Clips respond because the West has become of Wild West shootout after yesterday's results!
