so here is my take: I played college tennis at a D1 school. When we had matches in Colorado or Utah I really struggled. Got winded very quickly. It was really hard to play against those guys, even when I was probably a better player, because they trained and practiced at altitude all year. These two states were the only places I had a losing record. Yes I know these NBA guys are all in fabulous shape on both teams but I think Denver has this edge in addition to home court. just my opinion, good luck to everybody!

Yes altitude effects everyone indoor or out as it comes down to the amount of oxygen particles available to get your breath during an aerobic exercise. We will see if that matters here. But I doubt the Lakers or anyone else during these playoffs did extra training the few days off to get ready for the altitude difference like they often do in football games.

That's my point. I'm thinking visiting teams aren't affected by playing indoors very much if at all. I'm sure they know the affects and I'm sure there's plenty and they probably make a point to stay indoors. Thank you for replying and BOL on your bet. I was just curious..

I’m sure they are aware of the effects, my only point is that they are not as prepared for the effects as a team, that trains, and plays in that area year-round… And also, indoors versus outdoors makes zero difference

yes, exactly. I’m not saying this will be a factor, just sharing my experience. For me, the altitude was a problem. But then again, I was playing an individual sport. A team sport may not exploit this difference as much as an individual sport.

Fair point to raise. Lets see if the Lakers are gassed by late third quarter. Especially if Denver is playing at a face pace. Now if they want to play a half court game with the Lakers, slow it down and play isolation D that would play right into the Lakers hands and likely they won't have to expend as much energy to be taxed and hence winded that the altitude would make any difference. We shall see.

Well what is Denver's ATS record at home? If we are talking about ATS, then the best gauge is to see if Altitude really affects the ATS record of Denver at home.
Now with ML, then DEN lost what 7 games only? at home? But ATS is a different story.

30-16-1 are the Denver Nuggets ATS home record. While LA Lakers are 20-25-1 ATS road record for what it is worth.

Also LAL is 1-3-1 ATS against Denver the last two years with the push being a 13 point line that Lakers backdoor covered and the win being a game where Joker didn't even play and it took 146 points by the Lakers to be Denver in Denver. Just an FYI.
