Why would Maverick Carter risk has freedom his life... His millions of dollars. He had investments with LeBron. He had real estate investments. He had plenty of money himself. He didn't need to bet on the NBA. He could have bet on NFL or other sports but still LeBron. James has had a very clean image. His entire career. Great family man. Seems like now that his career is coming to a close that they're trying to tarnish his name...

Players do bet on games, but I do not believe they bet on games within their league, at least the Superstars aren't that stupid.
I was at Benihana years ago in LA, when KD, WestBrook, and Harden was still on OKC, I was lucky enough to sit on the same table grill as them, and their conversation that stuck with me was betting college football games, nothing crazy but 5k a game if I remember correctly, and they go thru local bookies. So YES, I do believe players understand what the point spread means. Multiple times during MNF or SNF we all heard this game is over but that TD or FG means a lot to some people, so even announcers are onto this.

, although the money they are surrounded with are so much more than 5-10k, if their friends or homies are smart, easily find a brand and ask their friends to drink from it would bring in so much more than 5-10k a few times a month. No body wants to be known as the point shaver imo.
Here is something else that I have heard of. College basketball players getting money, I am talking about schools we never have heard of being a big time program, for me it was in the Orange County area, an UC. bench players that get regular but little playing time would foul or miss shots for some nice weekend money.
We also all know the infamous NBA ref that was caught.
I believe this stuff goes on more than we all want to admit, but I will say this, its still 50/50, and its much easier picking win or lose than at a table game in Vegas.

These guys are morons and stupid enough to fix games for their posse friends. Look at Morant did with the gangster friend flashing a gun around etc They believe no one knows what they’re doing and invincible or can’t be touched. Their egos get them in trouble
I have a friend who use to sell the SuperSonics their drugs back in the day and would travel with the team. He would bet the games and the players would tell him if they would cover a spread or not. Most of the time he would win b/c of the players advice.
Everyone bets...However..Lebrick is a billion dollar empire...U think he would risk his legacy and career over chump change bets that his manger does on the side...Do you know Lebrick makes over $500K a game with the Fakers....So no he is not fixing games for his manager's degenerate gambling habit..

They're not morons... They're professional NBA basketball players. Some have very high athletic IQ. Some have very high financial intelligence but you wouldn't be saying that if they were white.
