Not sure if this is the place to put it but figured that if it is to go somewhere else it will get moved. Last night I placed a live wager on the Hawks/Celtics game at the Hawks -11 1/2 and they covered. I look in my account about 15 minutes after the game ended and it shows as a win so I place a big wager on a later game which I go on to lose, no big deal. I am still up for the day so I'm content. I get on to Bovada this morning and am looking at lines for the day and while im on the site my account drops a little over $400 no wagers placed. I go and look at my bets and see that now, almost 12 hours later they have changed the Hawks wager to no action, thus taking $400+ dollars out of my account. I call them and they are willing to do nothing about it. I will say for one that I will not be using this site again as I don't see what kind of business practice that is. Anyone else had a similar experience with Bovada?

I have had a love/hate relationship with Bovada. I like their system, and their sportsbook in general. However, they're EXTREMELY late with lines, and they have held my winnings on several bases. I still continue to use them just out of comfort.

I called customer service and told them that about what happened. Woman said that the bet was marked as no action because of an error that occurred in the system. I told her that I don't see how they can pay a bet out, mark it as paid, and then go back in and mark it as no action and take the winnings away. I also told her that had a casino made a mistake out in paying a bet (which I'm sure we have all heard happening in Vegas on multiple occasions) that they would eat the loss. I requested that either the bet be paid as won or that the bet I made following the Hawks game be refunded since I only placed that bet because of the Hawks game being marked as a win. She said since both bets had been marked with some sort of action that she was unable to do that. I was borderline fuming at this point, told her this wasn't good business practice and that I would be taking my business elsewhere. I dumped my account and will be closing it because as stated this is simply boor business.

I love guys who take advantage of a bad posted line then get indignant when they don't get paid, as if it were the same a winning the money on a good line.
What was the time left in the game and how much was Atlanta up when you bet them -12?
And I wouldn't be surprised if they closed your account anyways.

That is truly awful. Sorry man.
Don't blame you one bit for taking your biz elsewhere. FWIW, I only use Bovada because of their player props, and their mobile site is better than most.

Line was posted at halftime, was in the live wager and also watching the score on espn.com, was about a minute maybe two into the third quarter when I posted the wager.

And sorry didn't address the part about how much they were up but I believer they were up around 13 at the time of the wager. And in response to getting indignant about a bad line, I think that's the smartest thing to do when wagering live. You look for a line that looks good and you take advantage while you can. I don't see what is wrong about that....

im only guessing but maybe their system registered your bet in error when they pulled the play off the board. sometimes these live lines are up for less than a minute & you can lose out just trying to type in your password.
just guessing. i would do what you are doing & find another book.
