My comments on the Mavs before the series started, on why the Mavs would take it to atleast 6 games (from the thread: https://www.covers.com/postingforum/post01/showmessage.aspx?spt=22&sub=101046008):
----------------
Dallas played poorly after the all-star break, while the lakers surged, and dallas lost their early season luster of being a serious contender.... BUT, this is NOT the same dallas team of years past... This is the most complete and dynamic dallas team in the Dirk era, and is better than the 67 win team of a few years ago that lost to GS imo...
Reasons why they are different than years past and will be a handful for the lakers:
1) tyson chandler... he gives them a defensive/rebounding presence to compliment dirk that was not there before... A big big improvement over haywood and dampier (from the previous years).
2) barrea off the bench... lakers have alot of trouble with speedy point guards...
3) Kobe is a rolled ankle away from gimping his way through the series... Kobe is a warrior, but one tweak in his ankle could reduce his effectiveness
4) solid shooting off the bench from peja .... as long is it is not the 4th q, peja has been a solid shooter off the bench, providing some scoring punch while dirk is on the bench...
5) the last time they played, lakers blew out the mavs.... well, the mavs were in the middle of a long road trip at that time, and playing some "exhausted ball" .... this is the lingering memory in bettors minds, but it was just a bad game for dallas and you can through it out, but it gives mavs backers extra "value"
6) in the kobe-gasol era, lakers only play as hard as they need to, and despite all that talent and size, have moments of stalled, dead offense. They could easily give away 2 games like they did with the hornets...
-------------
I am going to pat myself on the back and say that all the points held true except number 3 - kobe looked great and has no ankle issues.
Lakers will win in 6 if they are smart enough realize that they are at their best when Bynum or Gasol touch the ball on EVERY possession..... when one of these guys shoots, it frees up room for everyone else to crash the boards and get second chance opportunites.... when the ball is in their hands, it frees up lanes and creates open shots for everyone eles......
..... but they dont'/can't do that and fall into stagnant offensive lulls for minutes at a time....

Lakers may or may not win wed, but if I bet it, it will be an unbiased bet,

I think for a supposed top title contender, the Lakers are a pile of garbage. The fact that they've played almost 400 regular season and playoff games over the last four years has taken its toll, too. I don't even blame the Lakers for crapping out like this in the second round. They're up against a hungrier opponent who isn't worn out from three straight seasons of playing well into June. When their series defeat against Dallas becomes official, it won't be any kind of disgrace, even if they get swept. The Lakers had a great run, but this season, it's simply somebody else's turn.

And as if the wheezing and gasping Lakeshow didn't already have enough problems, RayzHELL just rose from the dead and bet three dimes on them tonight. They are beyond screwed.

How can you call it a upset when Lakers are the underdog?
The is no reason to base tonights game on prior performances or who LA once was.
LA should be a pick em to 3 point dog here.
