I'd like to ask those of you who bet on the NBA or on other sports, can you CONTROL your gambling?
Can you bet with the exact amount you were planning to bet, never chase losses, never bet more than you can afford etc.?
Or there is always a risk for you to lose it?
For instance, Golden State vs. Houston tonight, line opened 215.5, now it's 216.5, I saw beware with a long good record going for the UNDER - will you bet all your "life savings" on it or will you bet the same amount as usual?
Please share your tactics or strategies or feelings about gambling in general.

I always bet .5 to 3 units per game and its all money I can afford to lose. Instead of chasing my bets on bad days I will usually do a 3-5 leg parlay for half a unit instead of full out chasing.

First of, life savings because of a 1 point move in the total of a high number like 215? because one poster has the under? You must be new.
Second, I love gambling, the last few years it has become the center of my life. But I control the amounts. Gotta tell that first few years I couldn't control the chasing and looking for a bad team that was "due". But then it hit me - "due" is a term Vegas gave us degens to lose more money.
BTW, I'm plus money. It's all about the control, and it's nice if your'e good at picking the winning side, yeah for sure.

Since I just lost nearly 3K at the craps table, I have to say that my gambling controls me more than I control my gambling. But it's not the gambling that I want to control.....it's the LOSING!

No, I can't. I'd like to think I could stick to my 1 unit after a win, but there have been two instances where I've gone up to 10 units on a game I thought was an easy win (Charlotte @ Boston, Dallas @ OKC playoffs). I should have learned my lesson with Boston's terrible game, but I did it again with the OKC game.
I've won both losses back already, but, I find myself increasing the amount per unit at this point of time. It's like a 5k unit isn't enough anymore? I might have a problem, haha.

Same unit for the first 3 wagers, then double the unit on the 4th and 5th, provided they're all wins. Otherwise, same unit until I get on a winning streak. With 3 consecutive losses, I will always sideline myself for a week or 2.
