Wow 

With a line likely to rise...

From +5 @ home to +17.5...

A 12.5 point swing is reasonable???

I know there are winning/losing streaks involved but the Cavs won't be able to save face within 17 points against the one team they are motivated to play against in a revenge spot? 

Seems too steep in my opinion given typical home/away adjustments...I'll have to give it some thought

Tough to call.  I actually see them winning by about 16-18 points.  The Cavs just have absolutely no good matchups on the court against the Heat.

A rivalry game? 3 months makes for a rivalry? Are we talking about the same Cavs that got beat by 15 on the road in Houston and by 29 in Okla? Not to mention the team that Miami raped in Cleve by 28 a few weeks ago.

Something tells me that you are reading a little too much into this rivalry, and the Cavs in general.

The Heat's 3 players are not the Big 3. They are not even close to the team the actual Big 3 were when they first got to Boston or what they have become.

LeBron went sick the last time Miami played Cleveland and broke the record for most points scored in a qtr in Cleveland's house. Do you really think that in his new home arena he will show any mercy and sympathy?

I hope the line gets up to 30 for you then you might have a slim chance cover.

Wade, Bosh and LeBron can score at will here.

Final score should be somewhere from 16 to 22. LeBron is just so used to playing in Cleveland that he can make a shot anywhere in that court. Miami is different and it would take months to famliarize yourself with a court. So it shouldn't be a huge blow out like in Miami but it should be a double digit win nonetheless.

Laying Miami -17.5. Cleveland just doesn't have any personnel to do anything in Miami. Miami's momentum at the moment plus Cavs' losing by double digit in their road games. It's either you take Miami or just bet on another game.

An arena of rabid fans who were more into the game than one played in the NBA finals, an offseason on habitual promotion about Lebron's return to Cleveland, a record breaking scoring effort by the returning player, an 'abandonment' by the sport's biggest star...

I would say that creates and instant rivalry...

As far as what they were beat by, are you prepared to lay 42 the next time the Jets play the Pats?

Just questioning here...the line is too steep IMO

I wouldn't fear it so much. Miami will be all business for this game. Lebron mentioned he does not want to fall into the trap of over looking mediocre teams who are slumping and will be up for this game. Miami are going to pummel Cleveland and be the 4th team in NBA history to win 10 consecutive games by double digits. They are on 9 now and i'm sure the team and the whole organization will this in mind tomorrow night.


I have them winning by 19. Lay the points and enjoy the game.

Then how come bostons big 3 needed just game 1 of regular season to prove the were dominants. Celtics rolled right from the start in 07-8. They were far better. Heat are beating some shitty teams right now. They got a road win in utah. Thats it

would lean on the cav's but will probably PASS on this one - as bad as cleveland has been playing since smackdown by the heat it would be tuff to pull the trgger here

If you think Cavs keep this the least bit close wouldn't the under be a better play?  The only way I can see them not getting hammered again is if the Heat shoot the ball horrible and it turns in really ugly game.

I side with you too brine....thought the line was too steep IMO too.

 

Does Lebron get as geeked up for this game as he did the first?  I don't think so.  Many of these guys on the Cavs are still his buds and he didn't want to embarras THEM the first time, he just wanted to show the FANS how great he was and that he owns their court. 

 

I see the Heat being more lazy for this game, allowing Cavs to get plenty of garbage pts in 4th for that annoying backdoor cover we all get moosed by regularly.  Probably win by 12-14pts.
