I looked at all the top teams above celtics...bulls relying waay to much for rose to comeback...Indiana not enough offense will hurt them in the long run...and Miami not exactly the powerhouse...celtics have been average with rondo in the past 3 years...great time to back the celtics with those odds

Maybe for those odds but not happening. They beat the Heat....give them credit and heart for that. They beat the Clippers by two without CP3. The other four wins have been against teams who aren't currently in the playoffs as of yet. When the Celtics get into the playoffs they're going to have to play six or seven games because they aren't good enough to win in four or five games. The East isn't an exact powerhouse I know what you're thinking, but they won't beat the Heat in a seven game series.

Picking the Celtics to win 3 straight playoff series' where they will likely not have homecourt advantage is ludicrous. Don't do it. They cannot beat some combination of Indy, Chicago, NY and Miami. It will not happen.

None of those teams is even at full strength or cares yet(Amare and Shumpert getting into shape, Granger returning, Rose making his way back and Miami not giving 2 sh*ts yet).

Rondo is essential for playoff basketball. He will be sorely missed come April and his absence is the main reason they will be ousted.

Irrational exuberance is what is currently being experienced by Boston fans. Put aside your euphoria and think rationally about why you are throwing money away. Even at +10000 I would not play it. Serious. It's that bad of a wager, imo.

Considering who they&#x27;ve played on this winning streak, I wouldn&#x27;t give them better odds to win the conference.  The win in Toronto did not come easily.  They are playing a different more fast paced game without Rondo.  Can they sustain this in a series?  I don&#x27;t think so.

Celtics were having trouble in recent years with Rondo in the lineup. Now they're better equipped to make a stronger push with Jason Terry, Avery Bradley and Courtney Lee (AKA "The Pitbulls") in their backcourt??? Pacers and Heat meet in the ECF.

All valid good points...but the Only team I can see knocking off the celtics is Miami...the east I honestly don&#39;t see a team and say NO WAY the celtics beat this particular team...unlike the west with their power houses...they will no doubt be MORE motivated to be ray allen and the heat

BOS gives HEAT trouble all the time. With or without Rondo.

We have no idea how good CHI will be when Rose comes back but we all know that guy is a beast. IND - too early to tell.

I also just think that Doc has rallied his troops. They should always be a better team when Rondo is on the court however with him off they get way more production from their bench which is always a recipe for winning.

Yeah. With Rondo, the Celtics got a ring, another trip to the finals and another to the ECF.

Without Rondo, they have a 6 game win streak. Definitely better without Rondo.

If you bet on any other team than the Heat to reach the finals, you are wasting your money.

I think the Celtics are only going to climb in the standings, they are moving the ball around much better without Rondo and playing great defense as always. Rondo was dribbling the ball by about 20% more this season than previous ones (I have the stats), he never developed chemistry with the new pieces on the team, hence the reason why he would hold the ball for so long early in the shot clock without doing anything.

Pacers/Bulls are overrated regular season teams (this will offend many, I dont care just my opinion), the knicks can be dangerous by they rely on the three too much and could struggle in those slow halfcourt playoff games. So the Cs could get past these teams, the real issue will be when PP/KG who already have a lot of mileage, get banged up before facing the heat, will they have enough in the tank to challenge them like they did last year? Rondo was not effective this year but his hustle/rebounds and activity would naturally give a lot of rest to KG/PP....this will be the main issue imo, but you are only betting $300 for ok odds, so it might be worth a shot.

I may throw 25 at it.  I&#39;ve been looking for a bet like this as I have seen threads to late with same jist. For example cards ws win huge odds.  And ravens super bowl win 23 to 1.  Hate to come back to this thread and read people congratulating afn and not have a piece.  Honestly if u practice good br management, you can take stabs at this.  This deserves serious consideration esp when I burn 50 100 or 300 dollars betting horses rroullette or blackjack

Books didnt anticipate the celtics to surge after rondo out...odds went waay up...ESPN wrote celtics off for the season...&#x2B;2200 and that&#39;s not even winning the finals...of course Stuart Scott and Steve levy will start running the celtics story after the allstar break

i dont know about a better team, but they are a different team. with rondo in the lineup, there was a lot of standing around watching rondo dribble...pass, then pass it right back to him...now i see more movement, pierce and garnettt are more involved, and i think this team has still been adjusting to life without ray allen. yes, the celtics won a ring with rondo, and yes rondo is a unique individual talent.  but perhaps a little less standing around watching rondo dribble, and more involvement by the entire team is helping develop some good team chemistry. just because a team is more talented doesnt always make it the best TEAM.
