Without Harden, zero chance Nets win 2 games, much less the series.
@begginerboy
He's been playing lights out too. However, after watching the play and having played sports all my life, and having pulled both hammies, he did not properly stretch beforehand, no way, not buying it

Ironically, they were showing him stretch for 5 minutes on the TNT pregame show. I was so happy to see him preparing himself like that. Are you saying those stretches were not good or he wasn’t doing it right?!

They are great individual talents and killers on the court, no doubt, but they play zero team ball. Sorry, that’s just the truth. Without Harden, it’s over.

Didn't see it but it's hard to believe he pulled a hammy on a basic move to the hoop. At the beginning of the game you have to wonder either he under prepared or it was already tweaked. Hmm-

I agree without Harden it'll be much more difficult (I had Bklyn in 6) as he is the facilitator. But I'm def not giving them 0 chance. We'll see how it plays out.

Most hammies are pulled by reaching out with your leg, i.e., beating out a throw to 1st base or in a full blown Sprint, neither of which was remotely close to Hardens action

@racone
With so many key players going down, heck Giannis could be next, you just don't know. Kind of takes the "want" out of betting to be honest

Have to slightly disagree. The Nets at times have looked better with 2 stars instead of 3. It leads to a better team ball. Chances of them winning the series are much lower but even watching right now they do not look bad at all

not to be a know it all after the fact (cos most folk were obviously well aware of this potential pitfall),but i did point out to be very wary of futures on the nets in one of your earlier threads...just due to the extreme high risk injury potential in the case of both kyrie and durant,who have both shown to be rather brittle at times,particularly at the pointy end of the season...and since then of course harden went down (or stayed out,not sure of the exact timeline) and obviously hamstrings can be problematic if you are not all the way healed when you come back...harden has been very,very durable over his career so its just plain shi.tty luck in this instance...but this is something we must always factor in with future bets...nobody can accurately predict an injury,its just totally random for the most part.but looking at the guys histories is the best indication we might have.....likewise all of this applied to those that had the lakers in long term bets as well.you were essentially betting on davis not breaking,which is a scary bet.

I watch a fair amount of hockey and I swear less guys get hurt there in a fast paced violent game played on ice skates no less, than in basketball. I play ALOT of basketball, hard to understand

The amount of quick and twitchy moves they do per second is insane. Thats where all the injuries happen. Not the hits, the pushing. Its all hamstrings and leg muscles

@mrusso
how tall are you? once to get to the average height and up in the NBA, injury rate goes up way higher than hockey players because the nature of each sport is so different....hockey is all core strength and quads...basketball is shoulders, hips/groin, knees and ankles

with the influx of new gamblors due to legalizing and major networks promoting gambling this is the new normal and how the books control the money, geez look at PGA Memorial leader John Rahm up by 6 on the field and disqualified for testing positive for covid, test may be wrong, thsi is the new things we as gamblors are now up against as big money is in play, no longer do you have refs in your pockets now you can remove a player or insert a player into or out of the contest, it's brilliant really if you think about it

I recall. It was a chance I was willing to take because Harden has been very durable over the years and the Nets had 3 stars and still would have a chance if they lost one guy. I would never put a futures bet on a team with 2 stars, especially if one was Davis.

People must be scrambling with live betting to hedge their Nets bets and the books clean house. Harden may well have been injured even before tip, as Mrusso points out.
