Why Clyde? He's one of the greatest and most underrated dunkers ever. Just youtube the guy to see the beauty of human flight.
And why the Blazers?
They are in a 5 game tailspin with two terrible losses before the break; one to the Magic who themselves were on a 12-game skid, and the other a 36-point thumping from the lowly Hornets right before the all-star break.
Are the Blazers really playing THIS bad? No. The Hornets loss came the night after they left it all on the line against the Heat, in a game that was much closer than the 13 point final.
Also, the 5 losses came on a 6 game roadtrip.
It's usually betting 101 not to take the home team the first game back at home (always look to the second game of the homestand after a long road trip) but this is an unusual quirk in the schedule where one home game comes after the all-star break and then it's back on the road to play the Lakers on Friday.
I think the Blazers recharge their batteries here against an awful Suns team (one that is on a losing streak of it's own losing 6 of its last 7) to end this losing streak after letting the embarrassing 36 pt loss simmer with the team and coaching staff for 6 straight days.
The spread? -6.5 is fairly standard in this spot so I think the books are keen to a Blazer bounceback tonight, except this one has blowout written all over it.
