There's going to be a let down tonight after they raise the banner in Miami, as there always is.  I love the Bulls tonight, and that's not a homer bet either.

Anyone have any stats on the defending champs in their home opener?  Most likely they have some hoopla and celebration to honor last year's achievement and that may take some gas out of their play.

Whereas the Bulls are hungry to prove themselves.

I'll see if the database can filter it out.

Ok looks like in the last 10 years, the defending champions are 2-8 ATS in their home opener.

FWIW in 2006 the Heat played the Bulls and got blown out.  I don't expect that again, but the Bulls could win this straight up.

Miami beat Boston by 13 last season in their home opener.  Was up 62-54 at half.  Not sure what the line was then, but theres not much of a let down there.
