The Knicks, as is well known, have played an incredibly favorable schedule as far as their opponents' defensive prowess goes. Out of their 25 games, only 6 have been played against top 10 defenses in terms of ppg allowed. I really think the Celtics slow the tempo and yes they will score against Knicks bad D. But they have a very good defense to stop the Knicks offense and their small amount of turnovers and high FG % will stop the knicks get out a run mentality, making it a possession game I think the Knicks can not win.

I really don't remember a time the Celtics got crazy and started running every possession which is the only way I see the Knicks covering and hitting the over.

This is a very insightful post and definitely is making me question the over. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts from the Knicks point of view though. Do you think the Knicks think that they can beat Boston at their game? I sure don't. The second this turns into a possession game, NY is finished. I would expect them to try their hardest to run on the Celtics for the entire game before their defense gets set up. Can Boston beat the Knicks at their game? Absolutely. They are more than capable of scoring on anyone at a high pace if they want to.

Any O/U bet centers around whether or not you believe the Celtics will slow it down intentionally (for all the reasons you have mentioned) despite the open looks they are going to receive all over the court. Ray Allen is probably good for 30 and Pierce is going to start shooting better some day. His comments will have the Garden all fired up and I think he feeds off that. These teams have met before and the score went into the 200's. If the Knicks get down in game (and I'm expecting a Boston win) I would look for them to push it even more in a comeback attempt. Boston will be able to counter attack all night with open looks I don't think they will pass up. Best of luck on your bet though either way. I'm still undecided

thanks i was just asking because recently i've been seeing how Brandon Roys been playing and he's been slumping real bad in points and it would be disappointing seeing him go through it in this game, I think the under would be a safer bet for me then thanks Milk
