#1. SBC San Beda is no doubt the best team in the NCAA. They had a good showing in the 2011 Fil Oil Flying V Cup and went head-to-head against Ateneo in the finals. They are on an 18-game winning streak and even without Sudan Daniels, their front court will give hell to any opponent. They also have a bright future in Baser Amer in the Seniors.
#2. SSC-R
The stags still have an intact front court that took them to the finals. They played well in the recently concluded 2011 Fil Oil Flying V Cup and tied with Ateneo and San Beda (5-2) in the eliminations. They are still a force in the NCAA but a lot of unknowns for them entering the tourney. What will Coach Topex bring to the team? Who will run the half court offense for them? The second spot is for them to lose here.
#3. MIT
Mapua easily ranks 3rd because of the 6'7 Yousef Taha. They were busy in the preseason and could easily top the Stags if they could get a steady production from their back court. They placed 3rd in Group B of the FilOil cup and made it all the way to the finals in the 17th Fr. Martin Summer Cup where they went on to had an 8-1 record in the eliminations.
#4. JRU
Jose Rizal University will have to dig deep and rely on
their role players to level the competition with their speed and
defense. Marvin Hayes, Joe Etame, Jay-r Bulangis, and Nchotu Njei
exit made the Bombers a little too small in the paint and with no one
to really turn to this season. It will be a great learning experience
for the team and it will be interesting to see who will step up.
#5. AU
Arellano University will have to demand a lot more from Andrian Celada after losing Ciriacruz to injury. They still have an intact core and you can expect them to compete better after last year's 6th place finish with Leo Isaac still calling the shots. Expect them to always come out competing after gaining a lot of confidence placing 2nd in the elimination round of 17th Fr. Martin Summer Cup and making the semifinals.

my estimate is sbc-13.5 to 16.5... it shouldn't reach 20points yet because it is only the first game..
Well that's true but you know how local books love to blow up lines. SBC were -18.5 and -25.5 last season so I won't be surprised if it really is in the 20point line.
