Afternoon, everyone….with Mens’ Olympic Hockey nearing, first play for me….
Team Canada to win Gold (+200) – no Stamkos, no problem as this roster is loaded from top to bottom with NHL stars:
Goalies: Roberto Luongo, Carey Price, Mike Smith
Defensemen: Jay Bouwmeester, Drew Doughty, Dan Hamhuis, Duncan Keith, Alex Pietrangelo, P.K. Subban, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Shea Weber
Forwards: Jamie Benn, Patrice Bergeron, Jeff Carter, Sidney Crosby, Matt Duchene, Ryan Getzlaf, Chris Kunitz, Patrick Marleau, Rick Nash, Corey Perry, Patrick Sharp, Steven Stamkos (injured, will not play), Martin St. Louis, John Tavares, Jonathan Toews
I’m a little concerned with the goaltending as all three have been somewhat inconsistent this season though I suppose you could make that claim for a good deal of others as well. Regardless, Team Canada has the offensive firepower to more than overcome any potential goaltending deficiency. Moreover, Canada shouldn’t really be tested in pool play as they drew a favorable Group which includes Finland, Norway, and Austria. Further, the 2nd tie-breaker for pool play standings is goal differential which means that there won’t be any let-up from this star-studded lineup.
From there, I anticipate the single-elimination tournament eventually coming down to Canada, Sweden, Russia, and the USA with Canada defeating Sweden for the Gold and the USA defeating Russia for the Bronze.
The reason I post this now is that the line has already dropped 20 cents and I anticipate it only dropping further once the games begin to take fold. Thus, if you like this play, I suggest you lock it in now for optimum value.Afternoon, everyone….with Mens’ Olympic Hockey nearing, first play for me….
