I'm on the Nuggets moneyline -145 in the 1st quarter and the Nuggets -2.5 and moneyline -165 in the 1st half. When I placed those bets on Sunday morning, I could have also laid -5 for the full game, but I chose not to because I think the Lakers will make a huge push to win this game. It's not technically a must win for them, but they probably feel like it is. They will never be fresher than they'll be tonight. Extra rest paid off for them in Game 1 in each of the first two rounds, and no doubt the Lakers feel it's imperative that they get this series started out in the same way. I expect the Nuggets to win because they win every game at Ball Arena that they want (really want) to win, but I won't be at all surprised to see the Lakers stay within 6.5 here.

The Minneapolis/Los Angeles Lakers have played in the Western conference finals 42 times. Forty-two times.
The Denver Nuggets have played in the Western conference finals 4 times. Four. They lost all 4 times, and each of their last 3 appearances ended with the Lakers eliminating them. This will be the first time the Nuggets have faced the Lakers in the conference finals with both the better team and with the homecourt advantage. How hungry do you think the Nuggets are to take advantage of this opportunity? Are they hungrier than the Lakers? Yes. That's the team I want. I want the hungrier, largely overlooked team that owns the homecourt advantage and a devastating homecourt win/loss record.

Thats fine and good Bator but so far the Lakers have only come back down at half to win the game (let alone cover) on the road this entire postseason. Why makes you think they can do that in admittedly the best home record in the NBA? That was game one versus the Memphis Grizzlies who held a 6 point half time lead but donked it away due to over confidence, injuries, frankly stupid play. Other than that any other road game if Lakers are down at half they have been blown out.

They can cover the spread tonight because they're good.

...and the Nuggets aren't? I don't know. Seems like you are talking out of both sides of your mouth on this one. I mean if there was a trend that showed (like Golden State did last year) where they didn't give a fuck about the first half but starting the 3Q on they turn it up okay I could get with that. But you are suggesting (since you did bet Denver 1Q and 1H) that Denver is going beat up on the Lakers in the all first half and then forget how to play in the 2H. BOL with that.

Exactly my thoughts. But again what do I know either.

Yeah, it's either that or your reading comprehension is leaving something to be desired.

You're wildly exaggerating everything and you're making a fool of yourself. Calm down before the heart palpitations begin.

This was a preposterously accurate read. Best in the game, this man.

I’ve been riding, MrB’s coattails since 2007 from my college dorm room where I was pumping $50 deposits into 5dimes as he taught me the beauty of riding the “ugly dog” or the “disrespected favorite.” If you’re new-ish (or been at it for some time) to this line of hobby, soak up this man’s wisdom. Dude is the real deal.
