Curry was a slightly built combo with crazy range. Even in Oakland, guy's were rolling their eyes. Saying ".....but....but....Monta?!" I liked the pick based on his shooting and him being closer to a true point but even I wasn't over the moon. And I had watched him pretournament, which is where a lot of the non-capping public caught wind of him. So while the eye roll is warranted, i'm not gonna knock Chauncey. It's actually the most natural comparison.

It's a complex argument Stu. I see your point in terms of numbers.

But even coming out, Curry was doing things at a small time college on a big time stage very few had ever done. And his range was other-worldly.

Even though Billups was tasked with that, it's still an insult. There are, IMO, some players you don't make comparisons to (LBJ, Curry being two).

I agree. Look all those players that the Hawks drafted last 5 years. Only John Collins and Kelly Oubre are worth something.

At least, they didn't mess up with Collins and he is getting his chances.

They traded Oubre out for 2 players who aren't there anymore: Jerian Grant (plays for Chicago Bulls now) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (plays for New York Knicks now).

Basically, 1 player in 5 DRAFTS? This is insane!

And now, they dumped a generation player (maybe, he'll be remember as the next Dirk Nowitzki)

I realised that. Maybe, they should relocate teams that can't make playoffs every 7-8 years or 3 times in 15 years or anything like that.

Akthough, I prefer that team money should be split into position each team had throughout season (most part for playoffs teams)

Relocate no...relegate yes...european soccer leagues have the right concept where if you dont meet a minimal level of standards, your entire franchise is demoted and a top team of the tier B league takes their spot...you would see an entire new level of effort from all bad teams down the stretch....unfortunately nba is not set up for such a huge move as there is no tier B league...that would be something eh?

We can't compare US Major Sports Leagues with European Leagues, either is Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, Rugby or whatever you want to compare.

All those European leagues are totally dominated by 2-4 teams at maximum and all of remaining ones are useless. Unless they introduce a real hard cap like NFL or NHL that won't improve anytime soon.

I like how US Major Sports Leagues are. No franchise is relegated and everyone keeps profiting (I guess). But, the real meaning which is to win championships is not targeted by all, unfortunately.

Actually NBA is the closest sport to euro soccer based on your analogy of 2 teams always dominating....Warriors/Cavs....Bulls/Utah-Houston...Lakers/Celtics...and who have been the constant losers of the NBA? The cellar dwellers have typically remained the same...Clippers, Kings, Nets, Hornets, Magic.

Relegation will never happen here, but in an ideal model where teams are forced to compete and spend max money and beyond to keep winning, it would be an interesting league with alot more drama than now...and thats what NBA is all about...soap opera stuff.

Young's problem is not the height, the problem is that he is not an athletic player

Damon Stoudamire, Mugssy Bogues, Isaiah Thomas, were / are short but also explosive.

Young reminds me of Filipino player Terrence Romeo. Good skills but no much more.

About the Draft thing, Vlade Divac is the GM of the kings, you really think he doesn´t know how good is (and can be) Doncic ? he just made him a favor leting him going to Dallas under Dirk hands, instead wasting his talent in a busy backcourt going nowhere. Kings will tank again hoping to get something better next year and same with Hawks, where i dont think they want a white european player being the main image of the franchise. Remember they did same thing with Pau Gasol in 2001 Draft.

Everything is about politics, and this is not different in the sports.

If you truly think that, why dont you list your top 5 picks from yesterday and back up your ridiculously jealous comment.

i dont need to do anything for you.  you are not the boss of me.  you are putting words in my mouth.  i never said i was jealous.  i can say my opinion on here and if you dont agree then so be it.  im not trying to convince you of anything.

fact is trae young is overrated.  look at his stats so far in summer league LMAO.  by the end of the year you would also see most of these overhyped rookies with horrible stats.  this class will be one of the worst.  next year is the class to tank for.

You are calling people overrated douchebags as if you know them personally, when you only them from lurking behind your screen...your words make you look jealous, and thankfully for you i am indeed not your boss because i would have fired that bad jealous attitude a long time ago.

Summer league stats mean absolutely nothing.

Circus - how many teams passed on Giannis? How many passed on Kobe?

luka was tired his final season in Europe and his performances declined versus the year before so I guess there is an argument to be made on the trade (not for me, but I guess)

and yes, potential a transcendent Superstar. In year 2 proven he can carry a team against a better team on paper and in the most intense circumstances... and he WILL get better

I don't really get into this much but Luka is clearly the better player and that means Atlanta messed up.  Right?
