He was shooting incredibly inefficiently and without his playmaking (15+ assists) they would have been blown out. He set up numerous alley-oop dunks and 3s for his teammates.

Bud and Sharpe both bring up good points, neither of which involves being on the take. I can't stand how readily guys believe a game could be fixed simply because it isn't going how they expected. With that said, if a game were to be fixed, games involving players from the former USSR/the Balkan region would probably be slightly more exposed to it. Things are different over there. Organized crime factions often involve the famlies of arhletes. Years ago I remember reading the number of russian pro athletes that pay off the mob. It didn't mention anything about fixing games/matches. It just said they pay their tides until they can get their entire families to the states. And you never hear about it because they know better. For a Slovenian, you wouldn't just be exposed to the Russians. There are the Turkish and Albanian factions, which are also very strong and ruthless. However, I think it's more likely what Bud and Sharpe said. The kid balled out this year, carried a team to the second round of the playoffs in competitive series.
