Dude what are you saying? So because Lebron scores 40 he cannot play hard on defense? The excuses on this board made for Lebron are mindblogging. Yes he had a great first half on offense, which doesn't negate the fact that he can give greater effort on the defensive end. Guess what... Boston players get tired too, but yet they play hard every possession on defense. The argument can be made that playing defense every possession is more tiring, yet the Celtics do it all game. Enough with the excuses, there are two ends of the court in hoops.

How would you describe these first two games then? He had plenty of help but just couldn't get it done? You'd be lying to yourself. All it boils down to is you don't like the guy and him losing gives you something to blab about. Did you post about Harden not doing enough last night? His team was favored at home and couldn't get it done. Or do you not hate harden as much so you don't need to b1tch about him?

You are right I do not get your point, because you are struggling to provide one. Does individual defensive effort not contribute to team defense? I'd say it does. Maybe the Cavs team defense isn't great because the effort, including from Lebron is not there on that end of the court? To answer your question yes JR was considered a good defender, especially in finals series against the Warriors. Some were calling him the best perimeter defender on the team. Tristan is also a good defender, and George Hill is considered a good PG defender if you have followed his career. Team defense requires effort, which the Celtics provide is all I am saying. As for naming a guy with more responsibility than Lebron James why is there a need? Didn't he kind of do that to himself by running Kyrie out of town? Or needing the ball to be in his hands as the Point Forward 90% of the time. Even when Kyrie was there Lebron did not give superior effort on the defensive end. Lebron is a great player no doubt, but to suggest that he shouldn't give effort on defense in the ECF is absurd. It's funny guys on the Celtics like Baynes, Tatum, and Monroe are not considered elite defenders but were all out there giving great effort tonight on D individually and as a team. That is what I am saying. There are plenty of elite two way defenders in this league that give great effort on both ends Kawhi, KD, and Klay are just a few to come to mind.

What was the Cavs series price before the series started? Please tell me the Cavs were not heavy favorites. So Vegas thought the Cavs sucked too, but favored them heavily? Yeah the guy has no help right? All it boils down to is that there are many Lebron apologists and slurpers in this forum regardless of the results of games. Has nothing to do with not liking him. He is a great player, but the excuses are ridiculous. No I did not post anything about Harden last night because the Rockets are not expected to beat the Warriors, and were not heavy favorites in the series . And if you watched the game Harden's numbers are inflated because Rockets play iso ball, which will not beat the Warriors.

this is his 5th 40+ games in these playoffs. probably an nba record.

If you do not acknowledge Klay and KD are better overall defensively than Lebron it's obvious you do not watch the NBA or are simply incredibly biased. Lebron has not been a good on ball defender for at least the last 5 years. But I know Lebron's chase down blocks are sick though right? Get a clue dude. No one considers Lebron an elite defender anymore. And to answer your questions? Why are Klay and KD on good defensive teams? Because their players including, the best ones actually give effort on defense. Just stop dude. And I was never one of the ones claiming Lebron quit tonight. I simply said his defense was poor, which is obvious. And I was also on the Celtics the first two games.

yeah...the guy with 42-12-10 55% shooting quit. sure thing.

You keep shooting your self in the foot. What was the series price in the Cavs/raptors series before game 1? Remember who was favored chief? Cavs could be bought at +190 and the raptors were aground -220 or so....you knew that though. Was Vegas dumb there? And the reason why the Cavs were favored heavily against Boston....they beat Boston last year, the just swept the number one team in the east. You get that? You literally have no argument tonite. I’m sorry but stop please. I’m not going a d@ck here, I’m just making sense because between you and I, somebody has to do it. Good efforts though tonite. yeah...the guy with 42-12-10 55% shooting quit.
Dude keep up. I am not talking about the series price for the Cavs/Raptors series. I am talking about the series price for the current series Cavs-Celtics. The Cavs were favored. I am not shooting myself in the foot because I am talking about the current series. So the Cavs were only favored because they beat a completely different Celtics team from last year that returned 4 players? Dude what are you even saying? The Cavs and Celtics teams are completely different than last year, so that is not why the Cavs were favored this year. Good try though.

the cavs were favored because of what happened to toronto. 1-5 +bench, boston clearly has a better team. why my bet tonight was cavs 1st qtr. i still think it could very well go 7 and lebron in a game 7 is 5-2, so yeah. better win 1 in cle.

Defensive win shares? Watch the games, listen to former NBA hall of famers, and look at all defensive teams, Klay and KD are better overall defenders than Lebron currently.

Yeah I mean you covers Lebron lovers know more about the game than NBA hall of famers. Tell me, do win shares take into account that Lebron doesn't even guard the opposing teams best player on most nights? And just so you know Lebron hasn't even made a 2nd team defense since 2014 (4 years ago). Klay has a good chance of making one of these teams this year, as does KD. Lebron does not.

kd has no chance as a forward. paul george is a dpoy candidates. then you got guys like draymond and covington who leads all sf's in drpm. durant is 65th, btw. pj tucker, anthony davis, horford.

Coach and strategy for the celtics. Unless at least 2 guys steps up outside of LBJ, series over. I can see the cavs winning both games at home but they shouldnt be complacent about it. With the way boston is playing right now and with their confidence up in the air, it will be difficult to defeat them.

We will see. Klay definitely has a chance as a forward to make All-Defensive Team, especially with Kawhi being out. I just find it funny that everyone claims Lebron plays D, yet the Cavs didn't even let him guard KD in the Finals. They either put 37-year old Richard Jefferson or JR on KD for the majority of games. When Lebron did get switched onto him KD lit him up. He used to be a phenomenal defender 5 years ago. Now offensive players get to the paint at will on him.
