DRIBBLING OUT THE SHOT CLOCK?

I&#x27;VE NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE!2h total was 102.5. 2h score was 99 at that point. with like 30&#x2B; secs left. could easy score 4 pts in that time span.i have never ever seen any one dribble out a shot clock to zero and i&#x27;ve been watching the nba since 1985.any body notice that too!

Was that not friggin suspect. I mean, I could careless as I was conceding the loss....but intentionally running it down, give the other team 14 seconds left with the ball...there was not justifiable reason for that!

Unfortunately teams do it all the time, especially when winning by a large amount.  Thank the ridiculous turnover seconds earlier and the two missed free throws at the end.

&#xD;&#xA;what teams do all the time is dribbling out the game clock not the shot clock.yesterday at boston courtney lee hits bullshit 3 with 5 sec left in the game clock with celtics down by 15 and all players on their way to the lockerrom.there were 191 points before he hit that 3 and the line was 191,5

The shot was taken just to take a shot, never looked like the player had any intent on actually trying to score.

[/Quote]no justifiable reason in this circumstance. sportsmanship reason is bulldust. this is time for the bench to play for the play offs in case for some reason they are needed in game. this is not a regular sort of game early in the season it&#x27;s crucial for all players especially the bench and the youngens to get in game time. you really think it&#x27;s best for them to drain the clock in order for good sportsmanship at this time of the year? hell no

pls inform me when was the last time a team dribbled out the shot clock w/ 36.3 secs left in the game. that&#x27;s about a 12 second difference.

I believe it has happened once or twice this year that I've seen. It has probably happened on other occasions that have not been on t.v., but I remember it happening this season when a team has had a huge lead and there's less than a minute on the clock. I tried to find the game that it happened before, but can't recall which game it was. I think it happened that week before All-Star break and this thread was the best that I could find..

&#xD;&#xA;Agreed. I&#x27;m not sure how I can "prove it" (don&#x27;t have game film just sitting around an archive somewhere), but it&#x27;s definitely happened...maybe moreso in college? I&#x27;m not sure, but it&#x27;s certainly not the first time. They were up by 19...why do they need to win by 20&#x2B;, except for you to hit your over bet...

i&#x27;ve seen a team run down the shot clock if there&#x27;s like 3 or 4 secs diffeference w/ game time yes, many times. but have not seen a team run down the shot clock with around 12-13 secs difference w/ the game time wich is plenty of time to take 2 or 3 shots.
