LC, I'm coming out of retirement just for you. On the surface, this pick is outstanding. In fact, it should have a 90% chance of hitting, except for one glaring, ugly, nasty fact, that no trend (no matter how strong) can ever take into account: bad coaching! What he have here is a good team in a good spot but with a bad, and perhaps terrible coach. I don't trust Jackson here. Don't trust him to get his guys open to create enough scoring opportunities, don't trust him to call time outs when he needs to, and don't trust him to make adjustments and/or make proper substitutions. In fact, after watching this team all season, I think there is a good chance they miss the playoffs because Jackson simply cannot coach! But, as usual, I wish you luck.
MJ is not a terrible coach and the Knicks would DIE to have him.
You have to use what you have. Curry and Klay can't play D and they launch 3's. That would be the case even if Phil Jackson were coaching them.

Scal, I don't question you when it come to Knicks and Nets so I would hope you would give me the benefit of the doubt when it comes to my local team. Sure, compared to Woodson, Jackson is a savant, but then again Woodson is stuck with some real knuckleheads. Jackson, meanwhile, has some of the most docile, coachable players. The threes that are being jacked up are being jacked up cause Jackson wants it that way! The players get their marching orders from him. This is not a case of the inmates running the asylum, like it is is in NY. I have listened to at least half-dozen interviews with him and every time he says he wants his guys to shoot from wherever/whenever as soon as they get an opening. He really believes that these guys are the greatest shooters to ever live, so who he needs ball movement or anything resembling traditional basketball. The guy is a joke. Just watch him standing there with his hands in his pockets (waiting for God or maybe even Godot). No instructions, no teaching, no working the officials, in other words nothing resembling coaching!

Boy, harsh words for him. I will trust that you know more about his coaching style than I do given your consumption of far more many games than me.
Most of it is modeled after D'Antoni who, despite his failures in NY and LA, is considered to have revolutionized the game using this very style in Phoenix.
They were pretty significant underdogs to Denver last year and burned a lot of bankrolls vs. San An as well.
No credit for any of that?

There is so much to say here, Scal. Tonight you saw the best and worst of the Warriors. Of course, they are a very talented bunch but they don't show up on a consistent basis and when they do they can always lose the game off silly turnovers. Tonight you saw Klay with a sense of purpose. I've been waiting the entire year to see him play like this. Why? The guy is MIA in most games after he had a great playoffs. I'm sorry but that's on the coach. He must inspire and motivate. Obviously, Klay hasn't been inspired. Same with Barnes. Jackson nearly destroyed that kid's confidence this year and you can see how talented he is/can be.
As far as last year goes, they were a nightmare matchup for Denver. I realized that after losing a grand betting Denver in game 2. After that game I put 2 grand on the Dubs to win that series. In the Spurs series they surprised the old vets for a couple of games but then, as soon as Pop figured them out, Jackson could not make a single counter move (or any move that worked). Of course, Bogut being banged up didn't help but I really think they could have won that series if they don't blow game 1 (again, really bad coaching in the final stages of that game).

LC, although lately you have been cold... Reading how you base your plays and what you look for has helped me ten fold. I kind of use your logic in NHL, on an 11-1 heater!
Look for spots and be selective, look for revenge games and when teams are tired. Psychology and if teams are desperate or not. Thanks again!
