Yes I opened one single thread. I asked what people thought about a line, which I thought was way off and could not explain. You know what replies I got? Mostly smilies or random comments, which were not useful at all.

This is one of the reasons I think the Covers forum is mostly useless and I rarely post in here. Still I look it up and see if smth. valuable gets posted or someone with insight shares his thoughts.

Now all I know is that I've seen this too often, someone goes on a hot streak and keeps hitting like 70%+ for a decent sample size. But at one point it returns to normal and it all goes downhill from there.

It's the way Goldusttt behaves here, just makes no sense for someone who takes this serious and really makes big money from it.

Same with his betting style you just don't make 1-2 unit plays then come out with 5 unit plays or even 15 unit plays. No way in the world is this money management with a serious amount of money.

The edges are so small that you have to be really cautios. Now you grind your way through the season with 1-2 unit plays, say this is like 1k-2k per bet maybe even 10k-20k a bet.
Then you come out and risk like 50% of your profit on one single bet? That's just brainless.

Now I know how this works, the guy who gives you winning plays is always right, as long as it works of course. Just telling you to be cautios here nothing more, because at one point this will return to normal and the true skill of Goldusttt will be revealed.

GoldLust has his own betting type here,   bet 1-2 unit then smaash 15 units when he see the chance.   is that stupid?   i dont think so.
every gambler has his own style depend on the line offered.
the units size is showing how big confidence on the bet.

You may say all winning in 1 week can be washed out in one bet (if lose) ,  but can be also dobled in one bet (if win),  everything have the risk, and as long as the ristaker know the risk and confidence on it, you cannot judge him stupid for taking the risk, except you know for sure he will lose.

Anyway GoldLust never ask us to follow his units size, 
just say on his next bet, he got nerves to bet all the 50 units winnings in one bet,

I agree, most people here on Covers are pretty useless. Your posts are a good reference, fiireboy. I never promised to hit 70% for the season. Or 65%. Or 60%. Hell, I am probably regressing to the mean right now. Yet I will be plus units, and will end plus units. Do you want to know the secret? Because I can grind out winners with 1-2xers, and when I spot a game that should be hammered, I have the testicular fortitude to do so. Are you telling me I should bet the same amount on a game I'm 100% confident on compared to any other play?

Denver was the easiest NFL playoff game in a long time. Books were BEGGING for Pittsburgh money. They open the line at -9 and 65% still hammer them, you have to give it to the linemakers lmao. Then, they drop the line to -7.5 and even more suckers jump on board with stupid teasers. It was a play worth hammering, and I have the balls to do so. Not only do I have the balls to do so, I have the money to do so. I nailed that game on the head. Not only did I cash ATS, I cashed Denver ML.

I have my betting style and it works for me. I find flat betting to be absolutely retarded. You have to hit over 52% just to BREAK EVEN if you flat bet. To be profitable, you have to hit about 53%. I see people on here who are a few games above .500 yet are slightly negative units due to juice. Talk about a waste of time. I hit my big plays, and that big play won't be my last.

There is really only one way to go about this and I will tell you how, because it is so easy and yet only a few can do it right.

i) Make sure you have an edge. Whatever method you are using, be it a satistical approach mixed with situational adjustmest or completely insntinctive betting based on experience.

ii) Make sure you understand and respect that the edges in these big markets are really small. I can tell you, I don't know of anyone who can turn over a large amount of money and maintain a really high ROI, like 10%. You can be really happy with 2%, with 5% you are doing really really great and 10% ROI you will be millionaire in no time.

iii) Money managment and this is where you have absolutely no clue what you are doing.

Yes it's great if you can determine how big your edge really is with a methodical approach and if you can adjust your stake according to that, but this just gets most people in trouble, because they cant and what happens is that their big plays just determine over their success or lack of it.

And this has nothing to do with balls or bravery it is just stupid to risk a large amount of money compared to your relative staking size. Just shows the lack of respect for the markets and that is a first step of getting in trouble.

The smartest way to go about this is to let your edge unfold over a large sample, because it won't show in a small sample and you can even run unlucky and lose money.

Now lets say you start with a 100 unit bank. You run hot and increase it to a 130 unit bank, most of your plays are between 1-2 unit size, which is fairly reasonable.

Instead of doing one foolish 15 unit play and risk it all on one small edge, the smart thing here is to increase the unit size to 1.25-2.5 units per play or smth. like that. You still maintain a low risk of ruin and your bank grows really fast if you really have an edge and can maintain it for a long samle size. As you will be able to increase your unit size constantly.

All you did there is throw any respect for the market out the window and risked a serious chunck of your bank. Nothing to do with balls, just Hybris.

Anyway I'm done now, wasted enough time with this already.
