I have been sportsbetting for a little over a year and have yet to have a winning month. If anyone has the time to take a degenerate gambler like myself under their wing for a little while. I've lost about 20k since sportsbetting but cannot stop and would love some help in getting on the right track. I will be medically retring from the Army in about a month and would like to learn the ins and outs on sportsbetting and would like to make it my next source of income besides social security and my retirement. Thanks ahead!

Don't bet a lot of games.....just a couple every day......in the "league contests" where I pick 10-15 games a day on feel......I'm one of the worst on this sight.....let me pick my best couple of the day.....I ain't half bad. Jump into my MLB contest that is on the office pool page under the MLB tab......it's called Irisheyez's pick 3 daily. There are some really, really solid cappers in the contest. Guys I have know for a number of years now. Pay attention to the plays of the guys in the top ten every day if you are struggling and ride shotgun with them....they will pull you out of the gutter. I'm horrible so far in April, so give me some time.....but there are plenty of guys on there that you can watch, "friend" and talk too. If you take the time to drop a few picks on peoples pages, they will tend to do the same.....WATCH THE TOP PERFORMERS IN THE COVERS CONTESTS ACROSS ALL SPORTS........YOU'LL BE SURPISED THAT YOU SEE SOME OF THE SAME NAMES IN THE MIX ALL THE TIME! Reach out and talk to those guys!!! GL my friend and thanks for you service to the country!! Most respect my friend!

Perfect example, I often bet based on public consensus (either for or against, depending) and many posters on here say that NEVER works. Yet, I am profitable for the last 3 years.
The next guy says bet based on momentum, or ref matchups, or feeling, or injuries, or...or....or....
That's why I am saying pick a system and stick with it. If you do that, you can tweak your system over the course of few seasons, and get it even more profitable. If you don't practice money management and discipline, you will never make a few seasons.

To start.. Do not bet NBA. I think most people on the board will agree betting the NBA is not the way to make and keep money. NFL, NHL, MLB and even fighting.. NBA is about as solid as betting on the winner of the next American idol. I only bet NBA to make the games more fun. When you have a 60% percent average and you are considered one of the best cappers you know something isnt right. Good luck!

It is a tough thing to do but it is the key to winning:
Money Management
I am very guilty of chasing after loses, falling in love with a game and betting to much. Going all-in on three or four games in a row to get a bigger bankroll. Doing parlays. It will all end in failure.
During March Madness I had a great first day, hit a 2 and a 3 team parlay and made $800. About a week later I lost it all. Bet big on UNC ML against Kentucky. Another one of my dumb mistakes.
For the sake of arguement, start with a bankroll of
$4000, do $110 a game to win $100
( each bet is 2.75% of your bankroll )
Slowly build to the bankroll you want and stick to under 3% each bet.
Do not chase
Do not parlay
Do not fall in love with a single game

That statement right there means you are already fucked. Relying on sportsbetting for short-term or medium-term income will drive you nuts and cause you to make bad decisions. No matter how good you are, there is too much variance in sportsbetting to rely on it as a steady income source. You are better off betting recreationally with "fun money".
Take your money and put it in a solid investment or buying some cheap property on the housing market....
" Help an Army Purple Heart reciepient out!!!" .... DONT PISS AWAY YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON SPORTSBETTING.

bet the same amount for every bet. keep it simple. dont follow anyone but yourself. never bet more than 10% of your bankroll on any one play. never chase because you are down for the day.

Right on the fucking money here!!! and ill add on to what mikey said, just stick to 1 unit per bet. Dont ever fall in love with a play and say ok this is a lock so im gonna throw 4 units on it. NO!!! Never!!! 1 unit per play. And when you lose a few in a row dont double or triple your bets to get back to even that would be chasing. Never parlay! Its not easy but Money Management is just as important than picking winners. You can hit 60% of games and lose money with poor MM. And remember very very important. Its a marathon not a sprint. Be patient. The ones who win the most are the ones who arent action junkies and only make a few plays a week and wait for great opportunities.

He is right my man, trying to make this a source of income will take years of patience and smart playing to build your bankroll enough to where 2-3% is 1k. So unless your starting with 50-100k. Your not gonna make a living off of it because its impossible to play smart (good money management) and make that kind of money. Just not happening. Trying to make lots of money with little bankroll= about a 100% failure rate!!! Thats reality my friend and if anyone tell you different they're fucking lying!!!
Everyone on here has given you good sound key advice take it and look no further. You ask how to know who to trust.....well whoever follows the basics of money management. And notice not 1 person on here brought up making the actual picks. Thats because that comes next. And the way of knowing who to follow on that is dont follow someone just because there making the right picks but follow them because of WHY they are making the right picks. Everyone can go on a run and get hot for a few weeks but being a true handicapper takes a lot of skill and talent and those are the ones who will make the right picks from year to year. I would suggest you start with following BODIO and reading his write ups.

stop blindly betting favs and u have too study, also i use a loyalty system stay loyal too the same team , if there on a losing streak then u fade, look at the match ups, i mean some of these lines r soo easy recently y was orl favored by 8 or9 vs atl and favored at atl's house, also lllk at the reds line tosay i took them they own the breweres just like the cards own the reds, alot of studying, this isn't just luck like some gambling is, i mean luck does have a part in it, but alot of studying, lower your bets too -20 g's thats awful, look at oswalt today 9-2 vs ari
