if mj skipped college and didnt take a break with the body treatment programs that lebron gets nowdays. jordans numbers would be way out of lebrons reach. would probably have more than 6 rings also. so its not even a competition. lebron is a weenie. you think jordan or kobe would sit out for a month over a groin injury? hell no

They're both great scorer. Lebron is a waaay better passer/facilitator. Jordan is a waaay better defender. They play two different positions in two different eras. This debate is dumb as shyt. And to make a thread titled 'I'm tired of the MJ sweethearts' only to in the body essentially say, "....because i'm a Lebron Sweetheart." is completely asinine. This is a debate that can never be settled, therefore anyone actively engaging in it is insane. It'd be like debating which is better: Coke or Pepsi. (it's Coke)

It's not close. Lebron played in a historically weak east and still had to join his biggest rival to learn how to win. His finals no-show versus Dallas was the worst choke by an MVP ever on that stage. Not only is Lebron not close to the greatest killer of all time (MJ), he shouldn't be considered a lock for the #2 spot. He's Peyton Manning.

Jordan was such a dominant scorer he didnt need to pass....why leave the ball in another players hands when you know they cant stop you. Go watch the Suns series when they would double team him all the time yet he averaged over 40 in that series....

This is one of my favorite topics to debate with younger friends when Im drunk. I may be biased, since I saw MJ´s glory days when I was a kid and he was and still is my idol.
There are some points you need to consider:
1) MJ played much less seasons than Lebron. So total stats are not a good point of comparison.
2. MJ quit for a full year. Quit meaning he completely stopped playing competitive basketball. Came back, took the rust off and kept on dominating.
*This is if you do not consider his 3 year break between Chicago and the Wizards. However his Wizards stats should not be considered. Some point that stage on the Wizards as an argument agains MJ. I see it on the contrary way. 3 years out and coming back with 38 and still posting great numbers.
3. MJ´s defense was the best for his position. In 12 seasons he played for the Bulls, he was 1st team All-Defensive for 9 seasons. In the NBA´s prime. Lebron has played much more seasons, yet he has made that team 5 times.
4. Stats per game:
Jordan: 30,1 ppg, 6,3 rpg, 5,4 apg, 2.5 steals/g, 0,9 bpg, 2,8 turnovers/game, 50.5 FG%, 33,2 p%, 83,8FT%
Lebron: 27,2 ppg, 7,4 rpg, 7,2 apg, 1,6 spg, 0,8 bpg, 3,5 tov/g, 50,4FG%, 34,4 3p%, 73,8 FT%
Take into account MJ played when the NBA actually allowed to play defense. So his ppg, and FG% are significantly decreased. Nowadays MJ would average 35+
MJ had a dynasty with the Bulls. Lebron has been under another dynasty´s reign (I think these Warriors beat those Bulls).
So, if the question is who is the greatest to play this team sport, there is no doubt its MJ. Absolutely no doubt. There are no objective facts or points of view you can bring to contradict that.
If your question is 1 on 1 then we don´t know, because Lebron is taller and bigger and in the post would be tough to handle. But in the same way, we don´t know if LBJ would beat someone like Hakeem Olajuwon 1 on 1. It´s a team sport, and that is the only thing we can compare.
