1)  At no point during his career did I ever hear Jordan talk about himself or his abilities the way Lebron talks about himself.  You can debate who is the greatest Basketball player all you want... but there is absolutely no debating which of them is more cocky and arrogant!  I know MJs HOF speech turned some people off, but that was a different Michael, compared to his demeanor when he played the game.

to your first point.. i think Jordan is better he was a shooter Lbj is a forward...  in regards to egos... I guess MJ knew he was the man and so did everyone else in the league. when it comes to lebron so many ppl question his greatness and i guess his ability to remind us of his greatness comes off as tooting his own horn. I asked the question before really thinking about your ID and your avatar... but actually you made my point for me.

Horry has 7 rings, but anybody who says he is one of the best ever is a tool!  Jordan (or Lebron, or Russell, for that matter) do not deserve the title of best ever because of the rings on their finger... the best player (in any sport) is the one who has the greatest ability, and who performs at the highest level.  Athletes who play in team sports rarely get to pick and choose their teammates...

Marino is the best QB to ever play in the NFL, because his abilities and skills were better than anyone else's, and he played at the highest level any QB ever played at.

But the simple-minded of the world can only look at rings, and say Brady or Montana.  I watched all of them play, extensively.  Brady and Montana were not CLOSE to Marino... on the field.  But Marino gets screwed for having never played with a great RB or a great defense, while Montana and Brady had Hall-of-Famers all over their defense.


Anyway, point is... the ring argument is moot!  The best ever will always be the players with the greatest performance and ability... and, for my money, that's Jordan.


As for the arrogant argument, I say Lebron takes that one over MJ...



Having said that, I do think the "Thug" comments are ridiculous and it is an over-used term... I'm not a fan of Lebron's character, but it doesn't make him a thug!
