The spurs are going to be there in the finals, doesn't seem like either the thunder or the clippers could stop these veterans, they're certainly on a mission of getting another NBA ring before they call it quits.
Thanks to their coach, this is a team that gives everything on each game, so you can't play 'spots' against them, they don't care if you're down, they will still kick you. They owe this to Popovich so i'm going to quote one of the most brilliant responses i've heard this year, when asked about how heartbreaking it was to lose the finals last year, and how hard it was to come back strong:
"If we keep going back to that, we could never move forward, So we attack it, face it, put it up front and do our catharsis. Then we just move forward. Looking back and looking ahead doesn't help. But being in the moment and doing what you have to do is really the key."
That's the spurs, that's their mentality, nothing breaks them, they could be 0-3 down or 3-0 up, they'd still bring their A game today, I understand that, it's not like "hey, we're up 3-0, let's play our bench", these are the playoffs, if anything, I think they'll try to end everything today.
But someone isn't ready to die tonight. The portland trailblazers have one of the best crowds in the nba, no doubt about it, it will be a factor, I consider myself to be a value bettor, specially in pointspreads, So I think this line is just a little off, thank god I didn't lock this one in last night, I guess I was right the money was going to be in the spurs direction.
Now the oddsmakers are giving the blazers five points, wow.. we can really call that an adjustment! (one which was actually needed for this play) a 6 point swing and we're still on the blazers homecourt, the blazers are going to play their hearts out tonight, it's not like they didn't try before, they just got outplayed horribly, it's time they give something back to their backers before they go away, the pointspread on the previous game wasn't really off (A PK) who really could've predicted that these games would be so one-sided after seeing the spurs struggling mighty against the mavericks?, so pretend for a second these series are 0-0, wouldn't you think theres value backing the blazers at home and getting +5? yeah, there's plenty.
And that's the idea, I will focus just in this game, I don't care what has happened in these series before, You're betting in a single game, not in a series, not in futures or anything, the blazers will win today (or atleast cover the spread).
Portland +5.
