You were trading 10k in options a day and co-own a restaurant.  Yet you make less than 40k a year?

Story isn't adding up.  Don't care.  Take everything you have and bet it on the 2 biggest favorites of the day moneylines.  Guarenteed to win right?  GL.

If it makes you feel any better I started with 18k bankroll. I got it all the way up at some points last year to almost 30k. I made a couple bad mistakes in the nfl playoffs this year and bam I sat at a bank roll of about 9k. What I did was I started to handicap games but did not bet them. Oddly enough the fact that I had no money on these games took a lot of pressure off and I was enjoying them again. I did this for about a month. I recently started putting money on games again it feels great. The time off helped me tremendously.

    Lopelpickscom:

My weakness is going an extended period of time without betting...I usually never last more than a few days. This has been my problem over the years and it's the reason why I always give back my winnings. For example, on Weds I took the Rockets +10.5 and won $1,500 so I had 3k sitting in my account until last night, I placed a couple of small bets $110 and $150 and lost them both so I got upset and placed a 1k bet on the Under 295 in the All Star game. I really wanted to try and not place a bet for a week but I cant seem to show restraint...anyways wish me luck!

Stop betting bro, especial if you are young.

Some people can't handle it, no offense. And it's a horrible addiction. Stop while you can.

    Best of luck.

Best of luck, man, but it's a tough road to go.  Good that you are seeking help, but I can see that you'll wind up making a similar post in the future.  I'm no expert, but it seems that you are really addicted to the action.  Playing the market can also be action junkie seeking, but add gambling to it and life will be a cruel mistress.  And think of your wagers as even "more gambling" because you're relying on a couple of games to hit.....when it is already tough for just a one to hit.  Like most people said, lay off the parlays or at least chill out on the bet-size.  Bet straights and MAYBE stick in a parlay if your other plays hit..

(Sorry, lost my train of thought)..

I wish you well, but I don't see this ending soon because you seem too addicted to the action.  If you are serious about quitting, get off this and any other message board.  Cash out, close the account, and use the funds for the help..

Not sure if what I wrote made any sense or is helpful.  Sorry, raging headache and a relative just passed.  I hope you've gotten off Covers and never even see my reply, but hope it helps if you do read it and definitely hope you take everyone's advice.  Good luck..

First time, I read a thread through all comments. Be strong, force yourself to withdraw all money out... Force yourself to say goodbye (not so long) to gambling for at least a month.

Several wrong things are going on your end:

    - Discipline (you can't manage yourself)
    - No money management
    - Too many parlays, parlay might help instantly, but will NEVER work in long run.

Discipline/money management is very important. You can hit 60% winning, but bad money management will make you broke in no time. For example, you won some $$$ on a day and you decide to put all (double or nothing) on the last game of the day (without thinking/knowing much about the game). Another example, you have a bad loss (basketball, a player makes a foul at the end of the game with 1s left when they're 30pts behind, and you lost by 0.5 because of that play), you get mad and make a huge bet on next game without thinking through.

I would not recommend to follow the BEST capper this forum either because your discipline/money management will turn you down eventually (no matter whom you follow).

My advise is STAY OUT OF GAMBLING FOR AT LEAST SOMETIME (BE STRONG). Never come back until you can manage yourself.

I wish everything will be brighter to you in the future!

I once lost 52 bets in a row on my own picks (Had some winners from other sources) Running really poorly is something that happens to all gamblers.

What saved me is money management I was down to betting $5 at the end of the streak. so my last 20 losses only cost me $100.

it took huge discipline not to press bet or try doubling up. I was taking horrible beats. NBA games up 30 points in second quarter with my team losing in overtime. Soccer games bet at - 1 1/2 goals and leading 2-0 and in the 5th minute of stoppage time they award a penalty kick and the game ends 2-1 making me a loser.

Here is my best advise for getting out of a slump.

Beat overs only. Bet only 1 or 2 times a day. Bet only on your best sports and preferably your best teams.

the hardest part of this is not picking winners. it is discipline. discipline can be boring, one of the reasons so few have it. it took me a long time, and lots of money, to obtain it. you have to stick to one way of betting, and hope for a 4-3, 57% kind of win percentage. i do not believe anyone can do better long-term. the oddsmakers are the only people that really impress me. there are no linesmaker 'mistakes'. this is there job, and they do it amazingly well. try it one way, stick with it for a time.if you lose, try it a different way, for the same amount of time. if you start to win, at a rate described above, don't be greedy, be grateful, that's the best you can do.

This is so true, one of the best comments i've read here. My thoughts exactly.
People are addicted to gambling because they like the thrill of it and the action they get, adrenaline, possibility to make BIG and EASY money. Why do i highlight those words? Because as the one i just quoted said - being disciplined and betting in a consistent way makes gambling not so much gambling. People get bored. They don't care about making 100$ a day in a rock solid system. They prefer finding a tricky game or a TNT\important game just to have interest, then they lose, and then they double or whatever because they can't control it. They can't see 50$ goes down the trash. They gotta have it back.

I lost A LOT of money in many ways, until i got those conclusions. If you wanna make money steadily out of gambling, you must make it a non gambling thing. You can take it to the statistics way, the 57% way, whatever. But as long as you play paralys and act out of emotion, you'll end up in the streets.

Those are my 2 cents that i've learnt the hard way.

As somoene trained by a pro but who only does this as a hobby to pay for vacations, I do parlays all the time and have never lost a dime of my own money; I built it all up with rollover bonuses.  Most people bet on emotion and go for big payouts.  DON'T!  A 20% return on your money is better than the stock market so don't get greedy.  Find ways to hedge and bet both sides of the game to minimize your losses.  Sharps know that the most important rule is actually not about winning: it's about NOT losing catastrophically... and how to handle it when you do lose.  As long as you don't lose much, you're in the game and eventually you'll win.  According to Teddy Covers, there are less than 100 people in Vegas who live off their winnings and it's a pretty weird, insulated, nerdy life even if you do so careful what you wish for.  I would not want the life of the guy who taught me. The casinos have the best people in the world and try to recruit those who find anomalies. But they're not nearly as good as people think: a lot of these games are flat out rigged, especially the spreads which is well documented.  If you're betting money you can't afford to lose, stop and get help.  Thanks for sharing and good luck!
