OVERALL RECORD 16-16 (-3.2U)Another 50/50 day yesterday...made some money off my big money Thunder play.  Should have hit all four...but the Mavs/Pistons went nuts in the 4th quarter and the Lakers/Suns went cold.Boston Celtics -5.5  (1.1 to win 1)Give them Celtics 4 days of rest and let them play another older team on a back to back.  Go right ahead...I will jump on that bandwagon all the way.  This rest was EXACTLY what the Celtics needed to gel together and get used to a lot of the new players on the roster.  It allows Pierce to get healthy.  It also allows Mikael Pietrus to get healthy and he will probably play tonight.  I&#x27;m ready for a nice 9-1 stretch for the C&#x27;sPrediction:  Celtics 107  Mavericks 92

Philadelphia Sixers &#x2B;4.5  (1.1 to win 1)Seriously...when are people going to realize that the Knicks really aren&#x27;t a good team.  The Sixers are showing their skills...they are showing how good their youth is.  Knicks lack a point guard, which IMO when the game gets close is key.  Sixers will pull this one out late.Prediction:  Sixers 94  Knicks 89

LA Lakers -2  (1.1 to win 1)Lakers seem to be catching a little bit of fire right now.  Kobe is shooting a ton and has become the ONLY offensive option.  Jazz just don&#x27;t have the offensive firepower to keep up with them.  Jefferson will be slightly limited going up against a solid big man.Prediction:  Lakers 102  Jazz 93

Miami Heat vs. LA Clippers OVER 203 (1.1 to win 1)

The Clippers put up more points at home...the Heat will be slightly slower on the defensive end simply because of the overtime game that they played last night. Should be a very interesting game, because it was clear that the Heat had no interest in the Warriors last night...and were focusing in on this game tonight.

Did you know that Boston is ranked 20th in defensive efficiency this season? I know it's a small sample size of 10 games.. but pretty telling about the C's declining skills. Injuries have hurt this stat so you can expect the number to improve slightly - but it's clear that they will no longer be a powerhouse defensive squad like they were in the past.

Using my model this is the score prediction on a neutral site:

BOS 89.6
DAL 96.5

Adjust for home court and extra rest (give 4.5 points to Boston, take 4.5 points from Dallas)

BOS 94.1
DAL 92.0

Fair value on this line is BOS -2. Either Vegas knows something we don't, or they haven't caught up to Boston's decline. I'd side with the latter. Value on tonight's spread is on Dallas by 3.5 points. In a close game, I'd side with the points.

And as far as the defensive efficiency...I would put a lot of that on the first two games against the Knicks and Heat without Pierce and with a bunch of new players

I was gonna make a play on the Celtics as well cuz im not buying into Dallas this early as there definitely not in shape yet but I still don't feel like this Celtics team is the same as old. No play for me but BOL
