I usually dont trust the Covers' matchups page.

Wizards website/gameday blog has Blatche Out and Wall Questionable...nothing about Arenas

Washington post is reporting Wall and Blatche are out, with Hinrich and Yi starting in place of them... Arenas is probable

CMJ,

I like the Raps/Cats under play...should be a much better effort from CLT tonight.  MJ apparently gave a speech after Saturday's disaster, and I played them early to get them at -4.5 but I agree completely that their offense is awful.  I have not heard the status on Tyrus but he helps a lot.  At the very least, they should be intense on D and that alone should be enough....

I think Orlando +1 is the POD.  I see Melo not putting much of an effort if any at all at this point.  He already wants out.  He going to make them not want him no more.

Interesting line movement on this one today however...I'm still running the numbers to see what I can find.  The Magic are another team that you never know when they want to play or lay down.

Detroit Pistons OVER 23.5 1st Quarter
Detroit Pistons OVER 47 1st Half

Surprisingly enough the Pistons have been pretty darn good at home in the first half of the game....especially against their Eastern Conference foes.  They are averaging 26.25 points in the 1st Q vs. the East...while the Hawks are allowing 24.77.  The 1st Half numbers are even higher much to my surprise...with the Pistons putting up an average of 54.875 points vs. the East.  They have put up 50+ points in 8 of their 11 home games in the first half...and threw up a 49 pointer against the Warriors.  I was also looking at a first half spread or first quarter spread play...but the Hawks are just as solid themselves on the road...so no play there...just on the team totals.

Prediction:  Pistons 26 Hawks 24 (1st)  Hawks 52 Pistons 51 (H)
Risk:  2.2 units to win 2 units (1st Q)
         1.1 units to win 1 units (1st H)

If I were them I would only play him tonight if it was a blowout.  Other than that...why rush him back?

Wall has already been ruled out for Tuesday night's game, which will be the eighth missed game of his young career. Although the rookie has been playing through it, Saunders said the knee tendinitis has been a problem since summer league. "I don't think, with his situation, that he's ever going to be pain free from that," Saunders said. The Wizards will continue to be cautious with Wall and monitor his pain levels, but these knee and foot issues look like they could linger for the foreseeable future. It's definitely not an ideal situation for Washington or for Wall owners.

Charlotte Bobcats 1st Half ML

This game is without a doubt a battle of the ineptitude's...the Raptors are an absolutely terrible defensive team. The Bobcats are an absolutely terrible offensive team.  The Raptors in the first half allow 58.08 points per game overall and 60 points per game to the Eastern Conference.  The Bobcats score 46.91 points at home in the first half overall...and that number goes all the way down to only 41.4 points vs. the Eastern Conference.  The reason Im riding this play is that the Raptors are 0-6-2 in the first half against the East this year on the road.  Another reason is that the Bobcats have had to go up against some damn fine teams at their place (Celtics, Spurs, Nuggets, Knicks, Jazz, Magic)...the overall record of the teams they have played is 146-115 (.559)

Prediction:  Bobcats 51 Raptors 48
Risk:  1.1 units to win 1 unit

Philadelphia 76ers vs. New Jersey Nets UNDER 191

The Sixers on the road have been UNDER machines.  7-4 overall, but 6-2 vs. the Eastern Conference with an OT game thrown into the mix.  The Nets at home vs. the East have only seen 1 regulation game go OVER the total, and that was the opening night game against the Pistons.  Only 2 of their home games vs. the East have gone OVER.  Sixers averaging only 93 PPG in their last 4 road games...and I can barely see them getting up that high here.

Prediction:  Sixers 91  Nets 85
Risk:  1.1 units to win 1 unit
