Missed out on my only play yesterday with a halftime chase. Should have just stayed off for the night but tis the life of a gambler. Nice sized board tonight.

Tough to figure out this line...looks like Vegas wants to see early on how much money they can squeeze out of the heavily public Heat. Bosh is not with the team, and the Raptors have a decent inside game...but I'm not sure if it will affect it that much.
Utah vs. Brooklyn -
I want to hold off on the Nets for a little while until they find some consistency. Spread seems about right believe it or not...Jazz have been terrible early on. Total seems a bit high with the Nets...figure this one to be a low 90's battle.
Indiana vs. Detroit -
Leaning towards the Pacers in this one. They might be the team to ride until they throw you off. You could tell by the Rockets that they were due for a loss...not so sure I can say that about the Pacers. Detroit has looked very nice early on, so I'm not entirely confident in it.
Charlotte vs New York -
Would like to hear some finalized news on Al Jefferson before I really get into this game. Initial thoughts would be on the OVER because I really don't see any of these teams putting much effort into the defensive end
Phoenix vs New Orleans -
Small lean towards the Pelicans in this one. Dragic is out for the Suns, and I just don't see enough backcourt pressure to stop Holiday from doing whatever he wants. I see this as a 13-15 point win.
LA Lakers vs Dallas -
Great start for the Mavericks, certainly playing better than what I expected them to do. However, the Lakers have been feisty early in the season. Might be just a bit too high of a line for me in this game. 108-101 type of game.
San Antonio vs. Denver -
Leaning towards the Nuggets here to get the job done against an older Spurs team on the end of a road trip. Nuggets have had a couple days of rest to get their stuff together and focus on this game.
Houston vs. Portland -
Small lean towards the Rockets here to bounce back after running into an absolute powerhouse in the Clippers last night. Also taking a strong look at the OVER...the Rockets just don't play much defense and the Blazers have guys that can fill the stat sheet
Atlanta vs. Sacramento -
I've had a tough time figuring out both of these teams early on in the season...but I do like the Hawks tonight. They are a better team, and these are the types of games that you just have to go out there and take care of business. They have the bigs to take care of Cousins.

Suns have over-performed in the first couple of games this season...and I still think the Pelicans are a solid team. This is a good opportunity to get a blowout home win. Just like where you had to swallow the pride with the Wizards against the Heat...this is the same type of game.
Prediction: Pelicans 98 Suns 86

New Orleans Pelicans -9.5 (1.1 to win 1)

LA Lakers vs Dallas UNDER 213.5 ($110 to win $100)
I just don't think the Lakers offense will be able to get much done tonight on the road. I figure them for about 90-96 points...and I don't see the Mavericks putting up 120. Only reason the Mavericks lost against Houston was a stupid 51 free throw attempts for the Rockets. Lakers aren't that type of team that drives to the hoop and gets fouled.
Prediction: Mavericks 104 Lakers 96

So the Pistons beat the Celtics and the Wizards and brought a struggling Grizzlies team to OT and they are expected to beat the Pacers tonight? I'm not sure I really see it. I'm not a fan of the public backing and the line movements in this one...but I gotta trust taking the better team in this one. This is the type of statement game the Pacers should take advantage of. Prediction: Pacers 98 Pistons 93

the fact that Indiana will play at home against the Bulls one day after this game keeps me sweating. maybe a letdown spot here for the Pacers. Johnson did you have the Bulls in mind when you made this pick ?

With you on the Pelicans, other side of DET. I don't think IND is ready for the size the Pistons bring in the front court. They are kinda used to dominating the 5 feet around the rim area -- don't see it happening against DET.
