OVERALL RECORD:  1-1  (-$10)

Nailed the OVER in the Lakers/Clippers game which was a strong play for me...just barely missed out on the Pacers due to poor free throw shooting and turnovers.  What I saw tonight was young players stepping up and veteran/injured players being sloppy.  I will take this into consideration the rest of the way.

Brooklyn vs. Cleveland UNDER 196  ($110 to win $100)

With the older lineup, possibly no Deron Williams or at the very least a limited Deron Williams, I strongly believe the Nets will embrace a more half court game focusing on execution on both ends of the court.  Pierce and Garnett bring defensive intensity that should be able to throttle the young Cavalier team.  I'm sure Irving will be able to do what he wants...but beyond that I'm not so sure.

Prediction:  Nets 97  Cavaliers 90

LA Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors OVER 202.5  ($220 to win $200)

First two unit play of the year.  There will be a few three unit plays this season as well...but few and far between.  This was a close one.  We saw tonight that even without Kobe, the Lakers are going to embrace the fast paced style with their bench players.  The Warriors have too many options to list on the offensive side of the ball.  They should have no problem getting up over 100 and then some.

Prediction:  Warriors 107  Lakers 102

Those are the two that really stick out to me right now.  Maybe more tomorrow.

Early morning 7 beers in leans are...

Denver +3....Sacto hasn't been good, I want them to prove it

Portland -5....Suns are terrible in every area

Magic/Wolves UNDER...I can't see the Magic putting up 90

I truly expect the Nets to play inspired ball, however it's a potential look ahead as they have the Heat up next. I know you're leaning Denver, but Sac looked very solid defensively in preseason, and it's a tough place to play. I will probably go Sac here, love Portland though. BOL

After watching them last night you can tell that without Dwight clogging up the middle they can get back to more of the D'Antoni offense they want to run.  Warriors are not as good defensively as the Clippers.  I'm riding the OVER in Lakers games until I see something different

For complete explanation...see Scalabrine's thread.  He is one of the best around and has been for a while...if he's that confident, I'll bite.  Suns are going to be the worst team in the league and the Blazers will be able to run up and down the court at will.

Prediction:  Blazers 103  Suns 85

Won't matter...lakers are quicker and better defensively without Nash on the floor. Farmar is more than capable as you witnessed last night. Good 3 pt shooter...can get to the rim and better on ball defender. Lakes won't suffer with Nash out of the lineup.
