Solid first night despite losing my Celtics pick.  Very disappointed in how their defense showed up.  Moving on to the first big night of the NBA.  Loving the start so far!!

As a raptor fan I see Indiana stealing one opening night. What do you think?

Dallas Mavericks +8.5  (+2.2 to win 2)

No reason for the Mavs to be getting this many points based on how they have played tonight.  They are a deep team that knows how to play based on it's competition.  I don't see the Jazz as being the type of team that will get a lot of double digit wins.  The Mavs have the ability to go small ball with Beaubois, Collison, and Mayo, and also have great size inside.  The Jazz play well inside, but I see the Mavs matching up very well with Jefferson, Kanter, Millsap.

Prediction:  Mavericks 101  Jazz 98

Memphis Grizzlies vs. LA Clippers OVER 187.5  (2.2 to win 2)

Don't really see that much defense in this game.  The Grizzlies lost OJ Mayo, and the Clippers are still pretty banged up, which gives the impression of a lower offensive game.  I see this one getting up pretty high and being a run and gun game throughout.  No Darrell Arthur for the Grizz takes down a little defense, along with no Matt Barnes coming off the bench for the Clippers.

Prediction:  Clippers 99  Grizzlies 96

CM whats your take on Clippers 1q over, whatever the line is? Just basing this off their last season success with high scoring 1q.

Indiana Pacers -1.5  (1.1 to win 1)

This is a show me game.  The Raptors have a little bit of hype around them...and a little bit more excitement than what has been there in the past couple years.  They have done fairly well in opening games...but the Pacers are the better team on paper...and they need to show it to me.  Show me that you are a top 4-5 team in the East like you were last season...SHOW ME!

Prediction:  Pacers 95  Raptors 91

The past couple years, the Clippers have been excellent in the first quarter...and anything less than 52 would be a good play

LA Clippers -3.5  (1.1 to win 1)

Clippers beat the Grizzlies in the playoffs last year, and improved their team with veteran players Grant Hill and Lamar Odom.  They are also healthy with Blake Griffin and Chris Paul back from injuries.  The Grizzlies are essentially the same team minus a huge scoring presence in OJ Mayo.  I just don't think they can keep up for four quarters with the Clippers offense.

Prediction:  Clippers 99  Grizzlies 89
