Keep in mind that the Mavs cannot be competitive defensively

One of the main reasons the Grizzles-Warriors series was competitive is because the Grizzles had 5 athletic players at all times who could switch everything and fight in every screen, backdoor cut, etc. Even their weakest defender(Ja Morant) had the speed and athleticism to be a little competitive defensively. The Mavs have one serious problem: 

Nowhere to hide Luka and Brunson defensively. 

Slow footed Luka cannot cope with the Warriors off ball movement, their cutting and constant movement in general. He's forced to defend Wiggins who will attack him regardless. He never had to work this hard defensively in his career so this is shocking to him. Brunson is too small and Klay/Steph can easily shoot over him. Too small to guard anyone else. 

This feels closer to the Nuggets-Warriors matchup where Jokic was overwhelmed defensively than the Grizzles-Warriors one.

So...Curry...Klay...Poole are suddenly these great defenders...Mavs just missed all their shots...you know the ones they made vs the Suns and Jazz who are pretty good defensive teams as well......Lets make the comparison when they start making shots and how the Warriors defend them..Ofcourse any team will look great when the other team shoots that bad..

Absolutely, spot on. Grizzlies a harder matchup for the warriors no doubt. They had some big athletic hungry dogs.

 Are we talking DEFENSE or permitter defense..when ya take 44 3’s in a game there’s no need for the opposing team to build a wall.

So u basing it off 1 game..Like Brunson never ever ever drives the ball..Have u watched Brunson..His game is driving to the hoop...Like they will miss that many 3's again..and shoot 22% from 3 ball land...Like Luka will only score 20 points again....Its 1 bad game by the Mavs...Over reaction...

I hear ya tho - it’s just one game. Perhaps they had a bad shooting night and GSW permitter defense had nothing to do with it.

We’ll see but there’s no need to build a wall - so the permitter defense is going to be better imo. 

Golden State by DDs tonight...then the Mavs win Games 3 and 4 at home...GS closes it out in 6...

Sure, GS will not win by 25 tonight, since the Mavs will most certainly make a higher percentage of 3's...so it will be closer But, it won't be enough to win nor will it be enough to cover in my opinion...

Warriors cruise tonight IF they come into this game with a killer mentality! They have to put the Mavs away early. Get up big a never look back!!!

 Think about game 1 with nuggets as well. Same time frame (last 4-5 mins of the 2nd quarter) where the lead finally was extended over double digits and they never looked back. Happened game 2 as well...

So it didn't matter that Luka went for 40+. They simply couldn't guard anyone. 

People are overthinking this. When Vegas offers you free money, take it.
