Does this guy ever smile? Why does the TV camera ever focus on this joker? What a Debbie Downer. I'd rather see the camera on Ray Allen's mother...at least the woman shows emotion!

KENDRICK VS LA
KENDRICK VS LA
You obviously are still holding onto the past. This is a different year and a different team. The Celtics had the best home and overall record in the NBA in '08 and the Lakers had a young team and no Andrew Bynum. This is 2010, the Lakers are healthy, would have home court, and have plenty of bigs to bang with the Celtics. Celtics only hope will be winning game 1, or you can forget about it. Phil Jackson coached teams SIMPLY DO NOT not lose a series after winning the opener. The Lakers motivation level will be at an all time high to get a rematch with Boston. You can expect that Kobe and the entire squad will play with a chip on their shoulder and a vengeance!
You and every Celtics fan out there know that you would much rather see your team play Phoenix in the finals!

MC353, I couldn't disagree more with your matchup theory or that the Celtics will dominate the Lakers again. Its not a shocker that the Celtics won in 2008....
- In 2008, the Celtics were healthy and Lakers were missing their starting center (Bynum)
- The Celtics had home court in 2008
- That '08 team was on a mission. Paul Pierce and KG had never won a title in their entire career. They had a great team, a solid defense, home court, and the desperation and motivation to win a championship. That team also had the fight in them to come back from a large deficit, like the 24 point comeback win in game 4 that gave them a commanding 3-1 series lead
Let's look at 2010:
Celtics are not a comeback team. They are older, will fatigue, and if they do fall behind and make a comeback run, will inevitable allow the other team to make a run of its own. The Lakers are a young offensive machine and have the firepower to come back if they fall behind. Different year, different teams
- Kobe's matchup advantage over anyone on Boston is enormous! If Kobe doesn't get double teamed, he will have a field day. The Celtics are too smart a team to allow Kobe to dominate them. When they double Kobe, Lakers supporting cast will get quality shots. Even if the Lakers role players play average, Kobe's superiority will give them a chance. If Lakers play well as a team, the Celtics are DEAD. Defenses focusing on Kobe will all but assure that Laker players will consistently get wide open looks, easy layups, and offensive boards
- Lakers are one of the more physically dominating and imposing teams in the NBA this year. I do not expect the personality of the Laker team to change when facing the Celtics
- Rondo vs Fisher.....Rondo could not hit a jump shot beyond 15 feet if his life depended on it. Rondo is also a poor free throw shooter for a guard. Fisher is one of the most clutch players in the game. If the Lakers take away Rondo's drive and force him to shoot from outside or hit free throws, time will tell what he can do. The Celtics cannot afford to leave Fisher open, especially in a close game when they have to double Kobe and someone on LA gets a wide open shot
- Pierce vs Artest..... Artest is no slouch on defense, and one of the most physical defenders in the game. Pierce will definitely get his, but if this matchup occurs, you can bank on Pierce wearing down as the game progresses. There was no player on the 2008 Laker team who could deliver the punishment on the other team's best offensive weapon the way Artest will this year..
- Garnett vs Laker Bigs.....the Lakers have the luxury to throw multiple bodies at Garnett, the only true offensively skilled big man on the Celtics. Baby has his moments, and certainly will in this series, but he's hardly a consistent enough offensive threat.
- Neither Perkins or Bynum are offensive threats, and cannot and should not belong in this conversation. They are bodies to clog the middle and bring defensive presence. The Lakers have the bodies to matchup with the Celtics this year
No matter what happens in the finals, it'll be far from what occurred in 2008. I have no doubt that Lakers/Celtics final would be a great series. The last thing you will see is either team manhandle the other. That said, I fully expect the Lakers to get revenge in the finals and my $$ will be on them to win it all!

That's exactly what Gasol was saying last time the LAKERS got crushed by Perkins and the Celtics in 2008 Finals....
Too funny...THe Lakers have no one like PERKINS in the lineup. NOT BYNUM!!!!
Celtics breeeeeze by the LAKERS in 5....
