Remember fellow coverins...It is a grind...No need to put all your eggs in 1 basket this early...I am going to try to cap as best as possible to try to make all of you money all season long...I am not just going to post meaningless picks to post picks...This year is all about money management and winners...Making units is the main goal...I am not a capper that puts out 20 unit plays because that doesn't even make sense...A unit is supposed to be somewhere between 2-5% of your bankroll...I usually do 2.5%, therefore if someone posts a 20 unit play that is half of your bankroll...Makes no sense...I don't get why people do that...If I am up several units I may up some games, but for the most part I like to stick to 1-3 Units per game...

A unit is between 2-5%, nice. My bankroll mgmt is terrible mainly because I start out so small and run it all up. I am up 6X what I started with from last Thursday. Now I can definitely put some of that advice to work. 

I took the Mavericks @ -8 (small)

I am also thinking about the Cavs @ -5 (small) ... Thoughts?

P.S. - The eagles scared the shit out of me in the 2H last night.

So I quess you will be keeping a record on your units. Because thats what really counts.

I will be, however I disagree that units is all that counts...Maybe in baseball because you only deal with moneylines, but the true handicapper in basketball deals with their betting %...

$10 to win $132 because I know nothing about the NBA and I can say win or lose I am retarded for making this bet. I normally bet between 50 -250 on any given play. This isn't much of a play, just a stupid parlay and more than likely a waste of $10 edollars.

Love your anylsis Kappy.  Looks like I've decided to tail the right man.  Any comment to my earlier question....will you hedge any bets based on line moment/injury reports/other factors.  And, if so will you let us know with your posts.  I'm feeling a 65% season!  Love how you are keeping it between 1-3 units as well.  That fits my bankroll and makes it easy for everyone.

I could cancel/hedge bets if I really don't like it at the last minute, but for most part what I post is what I play...

I agree with % as long as ALL wagers are the SAME unit size. But if you wager one play for 1 unit and the next play at 3 units... It is ALL about Unit Record and not at %.

Example.... In which I think you know.

Team A  -110  1 unit   Winner

Team B  -110  1 unit   Winner

Team C -110   1 Unit   Winner

Team D  -110  3 Units  Loser

 

Record  3-1   75%  Looks Good

Units  -0.30   Looks Not So Good
