This is an interesting question. He has an avulsion fracture which is basically a tiny chip of bone attached to a ligament. He might just take off the splint and deal with it. Also, I dont see why the training staff cant give him a little injection of local anesthetic right into that area, that will numb the pain but preserve the  motion.  How much sensation does he really need at the tip of his index finger to shoot? Too many unknowns to me to bet this game.

@Ruby664&#xA; I don&#x27;t know.  the action of shooting w/ a numb finger changes everything.  especially since the tips of your fingers control the end of the shot and follow through.  It&#x27;s not the same.
