The Raptors just traded away their 2 best eFG% shooters in Calderon and Ed Davis. Not easy to replace their high percentage shooting.
Rudy G is not playing tonight and Chris Paul remains sidelined. Offense might be a little disjointed, especially for the Raps.
CP3 and Calderon are two of the most efficient PG's in the league and without their presence, I have to question the offensive flow and output for both teams tonight.
Losing Calderon is bigger than most may suspect. Jose is a very underrated scorer and facilitator. For all PG's who have played 30 games or more and at least 25 minutes per game, here are his rankings:
#2 in true shooting %
#4 in assist %
#1 in assist rate
#1 in assist:turnover ratio
#3 in turnover rate
#4 in PER
#6 in fewest shots blocked
#3 in 3 pt. %
#2 in FT %
Will be pretty difficult for Lowry and the rest of the Raps backcourt to make up for Calderon's diversity of effect and production tonight, imo.
In the eight games CP3 has missed, the Clips average only 91.75 possessions per game, which puts them at the 3rd slowest paced team in the league when he is sitting.
The Raptors are 10-2 under this number against bottom half of the league in pace teams. The Clippers fall right at #15 in pace, even counting all of CP3's games.
The Clips are 7-1 under this number, on the road, against bottom 15 teams in pace. The Raps are #24 in pace.
Both teams are top 6 in opponents' # of FG attempts per game and the Clips are #1 in fewest FG allowed per game.
