This line is rumbling this line went from 5.5 to 6 by game time this line is gonna be probably at 7. Boston I think comes out strong and blows Detroit out. And these games are must win games because if you let a team get a road win and they can close you out at home. Your playing with fire.

Two threads for this and both of them saying Detroit will not really come to play tonight........I don&#x27;t buy it at all.  &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Wouldn&#x27;t surprise me is Detroit won straight up tonight.  Both teams are pretty even and they have split on their own court.  &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;If anything Detroit will try and regain control of this series tonight knowing they can finish Boston off at home.

Lose game 5, in a conference final series and your chances of winning the series is only 17%. I can assure, they won&#x27;t come out flat, they already did that in games 1 and 3. The problem with Boston is Ray A, he&#x27;s disappeared (read:loser). Boston&#x27;s "Big 2" can&#x27;t handle this Detroit team, I don&#x27;t care where they play, and their bench and coach are weak. Detroit in 6.

tend to agree with clowninmyside, detroit is a helluva team or they would not be here, getting six points sounds like a bonus to me - i prolly would have taken 4, which is where i think this spread should really be. it would not surprise me a bit to see detroit close this out in 6. i am interested to see what beast-7 and pronk think about this game before i call it in, though.

could the public be pushing these lines out of whack because they want to see a laker-celtics final?

&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;not at all man, so ur saying that the lakers will win just because they are in the western conference?  it comes down to them playing the games man, and I think detroit matches up beautifully with the lakers...boston on the other hand will lose to LA.  the lakers have no deep playoff experience except for kobe and fisher, who both played with shaq and we all know shaq ran that engine.  so as far as im concerned the lakers havent proved shit to me yet, until kobe wins a ring without shaq

&#xD;&#xA;kinda have to agree with this guy.  have seen nothing from boston or detroit that makes me think that they could beat la.  la would have the best player on the court in both series and the better coach by far against either team.  lakers have closed out a series in utah (probably the biggest homecourt advantage in the nba) and probably will take care of the spurs in 5 games (even though the series could have easily gone 7 and still might).  hard to see it making it past 5 games since the lakers would have game 3 4 and 5 at home.

The Lakers would have the best player and coach for sure- but Detroit has been somewhat successful the past years as a unit.  I think that Detroit matches up with LA VERY well.  Prince has done fairly well guarding Kobe in his career and McDyess and Wallace would fair pretty well against their frontcourt.  Detroit would also play the first two and last two on their own gym.  &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;I do think it is completely absurd to compare the East/West as the NCAA to the NIT.  The last time I remember hearing about the "JV" compared to the Varsity in the whole East and West rivalry in the NBA was the Pistons vs. the "Dream Team" Lakers of &#x27;04.  We all know how that turned out.....it was virtually a 5-game sweep for the Stones with the last couple being complete blowouts.  Well, add a McDyess who is suddenly on fire for an offensively challenged Ben Wallace and you have the same starting unit.  Please don&#x27;t give the Lakers the title just yet.  Boston or Detroit will do well against them.

ya in 2004 larry brown was the coach and that pistons team was hungrier then this team.  this pistons team takes games off (no way any championship team should take off game 3 of a conference championship series, and i felt like they clearly did, thinking they had won at boston and the series was done). the 2004 lakers team was loaded with talent but hated each other and had no chemistry at all.  all the real questions about la have been answered in these first 3 rounds, against tougher competition then detroit or boston faced.  also in 2004 they had the miracle shot by fisher or it would have likely been a detroit vs san antonio finals that year.

also i wouldnt give the finals to the lakers just yet as i dont believe any series is a given ever (just look at the history of the playoffs).  but i would be completely shocked if a team that doesnt play hard some games with a moron coach would beat one of the top 5 coaches of all time when he will have easily the best player on the court in the series.  i usually hate series bets and futures but it would be hard not to take la against either team on the series price especially since they wont be as high as they should because of home court advantage being with the east team.
