LOL at People Thinking Memphis has a Chance to Upset OKC

People really think Memphis has a chance to upset OKC in the First Round? Memphis, a team with no superstars eliminating a superstar led team two years in a row? Without home court advantage? With a rookie head coach?

Any team is beatable, lc. You Laughing at a team that dominates on the boards, locks down the paint, and plays hard on d shows me you have not actually played the game of basketball. Most of the cappies in here have skill in what they do, but are just guys behind a computer screen following trends, looking at stats, and analyzing numbers. I'll tell you from experience being a head coach, don't take an old school basketball style team lightly.... Specially one who matches up well with okc.

I would never bet Memphis to upset, but no one should take this Grizz team lightly. They have been together for a long time, and have way more chemistry than Westbrook and durant have. You can tell both of those two superstars have their differences on the court, specially went it comes down to the last seconds. Many times you see durant shaking his head or giving some kind of gesture of disapproval on a bad shot taken by Westbrook.

Good luck with your future bet, but I doubt okc can go all the way given the road they have to take. A physical Memphis team, then most likely another physical team in the clippers. Okc gonna be hurting after the second round, if they even get past these two elite teams.

I agree. Only way I see Memphis winning is if either Westbrook or Durant go down. If this was the NBA finals it would be a different story but the NBA is a superstars league. I'm not sure why it is so hard for people to understand that. It has been proven year after year. You can count on it like you can count on the sun rising tomorrow.

I never said Memphis isn't a team to be reckon with. I've been big on Memphis all year, and have made a lot of bets backing them this season including big ones against the Heat. Teams with superstars always get the calls in the playoffs. Refs will be jocking Durant and Westbrook throughout this series.

Disagree with you on this one Memphis is built for the playoffs and are playing great ball as of late.  I think Memphis could possibly beat the Thunder in this series.

Give me Memphis and the money line. There is no team in the playoffs quite like Memphis. You don't need superstars when you play as a TEAM.

Wow  LC.

First the "Book it" statement that the Wizards to take out the Bulls and now a  and a  at Memphis?

Memphis is not a team to be laughed at in any way. They didn't go all out in the Dallas game just to get swept by OKC.

Not saying they are going to win the series, but if the price is right, of course I'll take some of Memphis. They went to the WCF last year and many knowledgeable people thought they would take out the Spurs in 7. Didn't work out that way but this is not a team of pushovers in any way.

You have to remember, Gasol, their anchor was down for 23 games. 

The Grizzlies went 9-14 in those games and still won 50 games!

If you reverse that record, at WORST, they are tied for the 4 seed in the West, which is easily among the best in the league. 

Believe me when I tell you OKC is not happy with a first round match-up of Memphis in any way and they will take a beating in many of these games because of it, threatening your Thunder futures bet for later rounds.

That's from a coach's perspective. Sports betting is not about the sport itself, it's not about following the sport, it's not about a coach's perspective, no disrespect but it's about math, outshooting one's opponent with  shooting effeinecy has the highest correlation and predictive value in the NBA, OKC has truck loads full of it while the Grizz are lacking in it.

A former player or coach would be no match for myself to beat using mathmaticall probibilities and such.

LC, you're just joking around right? Here's a ole football cliché'. Any team can beat any other team any given Saturday no it's Sunday right? The Grizz will have to take 1 or 2 in OKC and win their home games to move on right? So that will reverse the advantage in front of the home crowd. The Grizz realize that it's an uphill battle going down 0-2. All the other road teams are trying to do the same thing. Some will succeed, some won't. Here's another one, That's why they play the game. Good Luck with the Playoffs!

Yeah, I agree with scal... Plus it funny that some of you are trashing mem w/o any stars.. This Memphis team (basically same core) beat spurs a couple years ago without homecourt in I think 6 games then took OKC to 7 games. Okc had a healthy Westbrook, Durant and Harden.

I think okc wins this series and I was planning to put a series bet in a parlay before it jumped too high  but I'm just surprised that people are trashing mem and making fun of people that think mem has value at the right price.
