Don't be so hard on yourself, it isn't necessarily you if you tailed someone else's plays and they lost. I think generally at this stage in the season, it tends to be unpredictable in the NBA with less than a month of regular season now.

I know i'm a noob but it seems ever since I started everything has been so unpredicatable!
It's never easy, it's a grind. Things will go really good and you'll think you've finally got it only to get your soul crushed the next day lol. It's supposed to be unpredictable, that's how vegas makes a killing. Just try the best you can to win a little more than half your picks and you'll make a bit of money, there is no get rich quick. The faster you try to get ahead, the more you lose. Discipline and patience are required.

Don't know who advice you to play spurs ml but you should never play a giant ml fav on NBA regular season game, the risk just isn't worth the reward. Don't play parlays and teasers either they are a sucker play, just do your research flat bet on spreads grind out a season, aint gonna win everyday in this league.

So like lets say I really want to bet on a team
Just put money on them?
I use bovada so it just shows
Point spread, Moneyline and combined score over/under

confidence gets shot sometimes after a slump. if you must bet, go small. once you start feeling it again, use the winnings but never go all out. Also, stay away from money lines with that much juice... it's just not worth it. because if you aren't confident enough in that spread then you either take the points or stay away. GL the rest of the way

Im with Bovada also...remember Bovada preys on the favorite pickers...look at their lines...they are usually a .5 to a point higher than other books and they all go against the favorite, because it is actuarially calculated that people WANT to bet the favorite no matter what the line....bovadas always have the hook and their lines are off every day.
I specifically stay away from picking ATS because I have a tendency to bet favorite and home teams...I had to quit...its a weakness that loses me money. Have to have the courage to pick the dogs consistently...and I dont have it....lol.
I will bet mostly per quarter action or player props...I make money at those.

JJ Redick plays for the Clippers....Griffin has been out an extended time and it didnt really have an effect on Redicks numbers...a slight uptick. BUT Jamal Crawford being out has been a gold mine for Redick fans....crawford replaces Redick and is a straight scorer, so when he is out or projected to be out, redick becomes a key player in the offense and he is very consistent.
If you take crawford out of the equation, then its reasonable to assume that redick would get more minutes and be relied on more to score.
Crawford has been out the last 8 games. In this time, Redicks line for points each game has fluctuated from 14.5 a game to 15.5 a game. If you bet just redick straight up to hit his points you would have done the following in the last 8 games:
HITS = 7
Misses = 1 (and in that game he scored 15...missing by the hook)
Thats +6 units on just one player in 14 days.
Food for thought? Well Crawford's calf injury has not improved and his timetable for return is indefinite. They just signed Nate Robinson to another 10 day contract.
So there ya go...easy money? Lay it on Redick every game for the next week and see how far ahead you can are. Look at Jordans points also...his line is only 10.5 pts...he has hit that number 4 out of his last 5 games to include averaging about 18 rebounds a game with the addition of Griffin being out.

Bovada is one of the worst books out there, but if your in america your really lacking in choice for books. I suggest you open a 5dimes account they have reduce juice odds. Seems like your fairly new my advice if you do what to pursue this is to start of small get your bankroll management in check and make your play just 1-3% of your bankroll. I know it's tempting to just go big or go home but there's a big learning curve ahead. You'll probably lose your bankroll multiple times over before you figure out your own winning system if you ever do (truth hurts, there are not many long term winners in this game).

honestly,if you are new to betting then the best advice is to avoid nba altogether and just sit back and watch for a while...you could be on the road to the poorhouse otherwise....it is seriously a league that confounds and confuses even the most seasoned of bettors and hits a point in the season where it can be wildly unpredictable with fatigue/questionable motivation/resting/injuries and pure dumb luck and random events.
i hate to see sumone fresh and new struggling and trying to get their head around such a perplexing mystery wrapped inside a riddle like this league....knowing that,as mentioned, even veterans can battle pretty hard trying to get ahead betting it.
if you must bet tho(and god knows its a temptation almost NO ONE in these forums can resist truly)...take the advice of others above and NEVER,EVER parlay(its hard enuff winning one friggin bet sumtimes),or take massive fave moneylines...and just bet small until you can get at least sum type of grip on the teams/players/spots/situations.
oh,and youre definitely not alone...i would estimate well over 90% of folks posting in here are losing over the course of the nba season..its a bi.tch for all of us

You think you're badluck? Check this out. I'm down the how right now and I limit myself to only one game. I'm usually an underdog type of player so I took Orlando+11. Omfg out of all the games I bet the only underdog that didn't win!!! Fml. Friggin' Magic
