NBA Playoff Sunday: The Winner of BOS-ORL Game 4 and the Series

A small part of me dies every time I post a loser.
 
17-4 in posted plays isn't good enough. Hitting over 80% of my posted plays is not good enough. My mindset is not "win more than I lose". My mindset is "win every single bet I make". And accordingly, when I post a play on Covers, I expect that it is a winner.
 
I feel an obligation to help the people win here on Covers, but maybe that's caused me to force some plays. I've posted far more frequently in the past week than I had previously. Maybe I feel so hot that I can just throw out my regular plays as posted picks when I would usually just post my strongest plays. Whatever the case, let me tell you something.
 
 
I am not going 17-5.
 
 
I know who's going to win the NBA Championship. I know who's going to be in the Finals. And I know who's going to play in the Conference Finals. I knew before the second round started and it's gone according to plan so far.
 
I took Orlando in Game 1. Boston was going to be flat for this one as they were still trying to recover from the Chicago series. Celtics got blown out.
 
I took Boston in Game 2. Orlando was going to be happy with the split at TD Banknorth and would gladly take that homecourt back to Orlando. Magic got blown out.
 
I laid off Game 3. Why? Because I knew "it" was going to happen eventually, I just wasn't sure when. Celtics got blown out.
 
 
 
Well, "it" is about go down on Sunday night.

i hope your wrong i think orlando has a better chance than boston against the cavs

Boston will pull out a victory tomorrow and probably will win the series with their experience but without KG, I have to agree with Qb4011 there, Orlando does have a better chance of beating the Cavs.

i know, too... and you're damn straight about this one...

i bet Boston before game 1 to win the series, but only put half my intended bet, then doubled up on it after game 1... after game 3 i added another 25%...

Boston - Cleveland is the EC finals...

LA - Denver is the WC finals...

Cleveland - LA is the NBA finals...

Cleveland is the winner...

 

there is only minor uncertainty about Denver - LA... 90% sure about that one... about 80% sure that Cleveland beats LA...

I think Boston will keep it close, at least cover the spread might win it, but Boston will still have a tough time winning this series. Obviously they are in a must win situation tonight...

The Celtics have just been inconsistent as hell this playoff season.  Kinda scares me.

Just finished playing NBA 2K9 for the first time in months.
 
Two games of BOS-ORL, both in Orlando with updated rosters.
 
 
And here are the results:
 
 
 
The Magic took the first game in Orlando relatively easily. Boston just could not match their energy throughout the game. Orlando had a tremendous game on the frontlines totalling ten offensive boards and ten blocks. And although the Celtics cut the deficit down to two several times throughout the game guided by Ray Allen's hot hand from beyond the arc, Orlando responded every time and shut the door on them in the fourth quarter.
 
Boston Celtics - 50
Orlando Magic - 65
 
 
 
The second game was a different story. From the start, this looked like a different Boston Celtic team as they cranked up the defensive pressure holding their opponents to 38% shooting and they began getting to the basket at will. They took an early 12-7 advantage led by Paul Pierce's 23 points on 10-19 shooting. The Magic kept themselves in it though with second chance points as Boston got cold from the field until Dwight Howard scored the game-tying layup with 35 seconds left in regulation.
 
Boston's ensuing possession: Rondo stands near halfcourt as time runs down, passes it up top to Allen who is heavily guarded. Now back to Rondo, dumps it off to Big Baby posted up at the elbow. He swings it over to Paul Pierce on the right baseline with Hedo Turkoglu draped all over him and the Finals MVP drains the three with 13.2 left on the clock. The Magic cannot hit the desperation three to tie. Game over.

How many minutes did you put it at per qtr??  lol.   If it was a full 48 minutes in the game, that is some crazzzzzy D..

A full 48 minute game would be .
 
 
I hadn't played in a while so some of the game options were messed up though. I didn't even realize that I had both fouls and the shot clock disabled until I was halfway through the second game.

how can you simulate an NBA game accurately without refs being involved?  how can you know if it is supposed to be a fix?
