What's good with every1? I used to be a frequent poster on this site and for a period of time gave out winners. I looked at the NBA forum tonight and noticed there are many good cappers on this site as there was before. Also there are some garbage cappers and that will always be a constant. My advice -
Follow people you know that have shown you there ability to win previously. Do not follow "robots" or people who are just posting a lot of picks hoping to get lucky and acting as if they know something more. I also see two types of people on here the ones who are against the public and consensus and those that simply believe the consensus does not matter. Let me make this clear this is an multi billion dollar industry the consensus does matter! At the same time there will be games and days where the public will win. You have to be able to read the flow of money... weeks in the NFL sometimes are huge winnings for joe public while other weeks can prove the exact opposite. Vegas will make there money regardless but at the same time there are some games with the public on 95% and the team will cover... rest assure they will get there money back on either the same team, same situation, or simply tommorow. Be smart... realize you sometimes need a combination of picks to be very successful.

I'm relatively new as compared to some other people, but I get the sense that this forum has turned or is turning into something that it wasn't intend for. Rarely is there any disussion regarding a game. Rarely do I see reasoning for people's selections. It's just a board full of non-sensical "FOLLOW NE" posts.
The fact is that nearly 90% of the people on this forum who give us selections are useless. Sorry to say it, but I don't give a flying fuck what you pick tomorrow, or what the guy above you picks tomorrow. I don't care. Other people won't care. The fact of the matter is people are still going to make a decision based on what they think will win... so really, is there any point to people posting picks?!
Even more comical is the fact that if these people who post their picks lose, they simpily create another account in hopes of gaining some type of cult following. Laugh!
That being said, this forum does have a handful of very useful members who I've learned a lot from over the lst few yars. What makes a member of covers stand out in my opinion is their ability to provide solid reasoning and analysis for games, which often leads to a good discussion regarding that particular game. That's useful, that's helpful, and love it... but unfortunatley it's not see very much around here. Posters such as Mr. Bator, ValueforRent and nbafan are some of favorites because they disect and make me think.
Enough with all the bullshit posts already Covers!

I'm relatively new as compared to some other people, but I get the sense that this forum has turned or is turning into something that it wasn't intend for. Rarely is there any disussion regarding a game. Rarely do I see reasoning for people's selections. It's just a board full of non-sensical "FOLLOW NE" posts.
The fact is that nearly 90% of the people on this forum who give us selections are useless. i give thoughts when i can, but i have a family and shit, and the amount of time it takes to cap games is almost too much time out - time i should be doing other shit
so to also do writeups it just too much - when i have some time, i give some thoughts, stats behind my picks...
but its true, there used to be a lot more info than just peoples picks...
however, i don't do this for a following, i do this b/c i'm competitive and its a way to see if i'm winning - it also keeps me disiplined - i post 98% of my plays on here, so seeing the plays in front of me with my record keeps me from going crazy with impulse bets (which I used to do)
