There's a reason the Celtics have always given this team trouble (remember w/o Garnett they took them to 7 last year).

Rondo will be able to do what he wants against Nelson and should be able to significantly slow him down.

Carter won't be able to keep up with all the screens for Ray Allen. If they put him on Pierce, Paul will have a much easier time then he had in the Cleveland series.

Garnett will be able to put Lewis in the box.

They all have good matchups. It's a long series because of that but I still am giving the Magic a slight edge b/c of Howard and their team depth, which the Celtics can't match.

If any of the Celtics are in foul trouble the replacement is significantly worse, which can't be said for Orlando.

All good points IMO. The Magic should be able play the ball screen a little better than the Cavs simply based on Howard, Gortat, or anyone defending better than a very slow Shaq or Big Z could.

KG can post Lewis all day. On the flip side, KG will have to guard the 3 point line cuz he can fill it up.

Matt Barnes may be a factor in this series. Don't forget about Redick when it comes to Ray Allen. He loves chasing Ray off those screens and has defended him well. Shooters know how to bother each other.

The Magic have looked great so far. This will be a better test

are you guys seriously going to get suckered AGAIN after you just watched what Boston did to Cleveland for 6 games?  i can't even believe that... how is it possible for people to get suckered twice in a row at the same game?

i need to open up a 3-card Monte racket...

Boston is more Experience.....so Orlando will need to work extra harder...no free lunch for this Series. Orlando in 6 or 7 game. Boston is a better confident team NOW. If they can take down Orlando, Boston will be 2010 Champ!!!!

I can see this going to 7. Two reasons I think Orlando wins a close game 7..... Ability to spread the floor and bench scoring. Either way we have two good series ahead fellas. Enjoy them.

I won't say this series is a mismatch as this will be the toughest test for both teams coming up. I say 6 games for a couple reasons.

I don't see the Celtics bench continuing to play as well as they did against Cleveland. I know from an defensive standpoint that the Celtics simply won't be able to focus on 1 man like they did with the Cavs on Lebron. The Cavs offense is slow, boring, and terrible. It's Lebron and 4 guys watching him make a play.

The Magic swing the ball and drive and kick as good as any team in the league. They also position themselves for offensive boards and kickout threes.

IMO, that's where the differences will be.

IMO, that's where the differences will be.

Magic really have a perfect combination of players...

Dominant Center that can defend and score... point guard that can penetrate, score and defend... slashing scorer that can score from inside and outside... deadly 3 point shooter(s)... and a shutdown defender...

they really found the championship formula... Boston has championship pieces, too... but Orlando is going to be a real challenge for them...

this might be the best series matchup we've had in the NBA since the Jordan era...

I agree Ice, it should be a great series as it looks like both teams are hungry to get there. Boston definitely has the pieces to get another ring when everyone is healthy.

    I'll say this much....

     - If KG gets 20 touches like Doc was saying, then he will get what he wants from Lewis on the blocks and those little step back baseline jumpers he has.  This is Boston's bread and butter right now.  KG has the have a monster series to get it done.  They know that.

     - D12 will be frustrated by Perkins, Perkins is pretty physical and does all the dirty work, he will need to play well for Boston to keep up on the glass and prevent ORL from getting out in transition and getting open looks from the wing and 2 on 1's etc.

     - Rondo will slow JNelson down somewhat but he will need to set the pace for Boston and keep it at a manageable tempo.

     - Orlando will have to make their switches very efficiently to keep up with the Boston pick and roll and keep Allen from getting too many good looks.  Pierce is starting to heat up a little too and could test VC.

     - Orlando has the definite edge bench wise, though I've seen that bench go cold a few times and the offense sputter, but not in the last like 25 games.  Boston's bench is contributing nicely ATM (Wallace, Davis, Allen in particular)  but they will need more and I don't know if they've got it in the tank.  When KG goes out, there's a huge void in the paint that they can't really fill.

I like Boston in 7.  I love how the Celtics are playing right now.  They're experience, teamwork, chemistry, swagger, and coaching are all peaking at the right time.  They've taken out TWO superstars now.  They will face their toughest test in the Magic no doubt.

But the Magic have played two teams that aren't even in the conversation competitively.  This will be their toughest test also and if they let off the gas one little bit and get complacent then Boston will make them pay and maybe jump out ahead and win it.

I thought either the Spurs or Celtics would be in the Finals based purely on experience, coaching and having all the right pieces.  Suns offense was just too much, perhaps top 3-5 offense ALL TIME.

Honestly I think that Boston win's the whole thing, too.   The Lakers will hook or by crook be in the Finals but I think Gentry takes 'em 7.  And Boston matches up much better vs. LA then Orlando or worse Phoenix.  If Phoenix some how keeps the Star Driven Lake Show out of the Finals then they have a great chance also, but I just can't see it.

No I think we see NBA Finals 2008 2.0 and most of the world's focusing on Free Agency 2010 any fuckin way.

Game 1 to the Celts. I have to say I really like how Doc and his coaching staff have it going right now. They've been making all the right calls in the playoffs. Having Rondo pick up full court against Nelson to slow the pace and not doubling Howard so they could stick with the shooters were both great calls.

    Onto game 2.
