Houstons on the other hand has me wondering. I can understand if they were gutting their roster for Dwight or some other free agents next year but then to sign Lin and Asik??? to $50 million in contracts makes no sense to me

Houston and NYKnicks have something in common for the next FEW years: Both teams will not win championships. The city of Houston Texas, in terms of outside business and Houston Rockets are guaranteed to be profiting big time. They will profit way more than what NYKnicks will get.
If I were the NYKnicks, I would take the deal and then trade him to Houston. I didn't like the fact that NYKnicks gave Lin away for NOTHING. Lucky, we got him for nothing.

Even mentioning Lin in the same sentence as Paul, Nash and Rose is blasphemous. I've been saying all along, if not for playing in NY and being an Asian-American, this guy wouldn't have been even a blip on the radar. So what if he scored 20 a game in 17 REGULAR SEASON games. I was an All-Central Texas bball player in high school and I'm pretty damn sure I could score 10 a game in the NBA regular season because no one plays a shred of defense. Hell my mom could probably drop 5 a game in the NBA regular season. This was a strictly marketing move by the Rockets and with their owners business interests in China it makes sense, but this kid is below average, led the league in turnovers off the pick and roll, and got greedy. Melo was right, this contract is ridiculous and hopefully ESPN and SI don't make him the center of attention this year and let him regress to the player he is without hyping up every jump shot he makes. Teams figured this guy out and the result was when the Heat actually played defense against him he got completely shut down. Mike Woodson could have played him in games 3 and 4 of the playoffs but chose not to because let's face it, the Knicks are much much better without him on the court.

Yes, NYKnicks and LALakers are profiting teams because they always have a superstar or superstars in the lineup that would be the reason for fans to fill up seats. But JLin brought more. MSG luxury boxes are all booked for the next 2-3 years because of JLin and not because of Melo or Amare. If you walk around MSG and see the bars and restaurants. It's always NYKnicks and then JLin. It's like you either like Chicago Bulls or you liked MJordan.

I agree with you that Jeremy has a much better future in Houston than in NYKnicks. Knicks are a mess and he'll always gonna be stopped by Melo. Now, he could develop his game in Houston. If JLin can make TChandler, and Jeffries look like scoring machines, I think he can do good elsewhere.

JDolan also added that he will match JLin's contract if it was a billion dollars! That changed Houston's contract to make it "more challenging and ridiculous". This pissed off the NYKnicks (both at Woodson and JLin) and immediately made the deal to sign RFelton. As soon as RFelton was signed, we all knew that JLin was gone. It was just a matter of time before the matching grace period expires. I don't think JLin bailed to get more money. But he definitely opted for more money than to play with the team that gave him the chance. The same goes with Landry Fields. He was offered $20 million dollars for 3 years.
