I'm new to Covers so pardon my ignorance but I keep seeing people posting their picks using numbers that aren't available anymore.  For example utah -4.5. Really?  

There's several people constantly doing this.  At other forums it's at the very least frowned upon if not prohibited altogether.

My point is, I don't care about your excuse that ''I got the line last night'' or whatever, I believe at the time you post it, you should post lines that are readily available.

What does anybody care if you are posting a pick using a number that isn't even available.  Just so you have a better chance at winning a posted bet?  What does that do for your credibility or what help is that to bettors if you are posting picks for others?

My only guess would be wannabe touts do this to get an edge and boast of winning records to gain clients.  

I don't know.  That's my 2 cents.

lmao..i was wondering  that too im like how they get that line thats a great line that was never available lol..lol...people lie on here tho i dont even think most people really bet what they say they bet..i always do my bet first before i even post what i got it at

Many people on here seem to be tout wannabes that just post plays and imaginary amounts that they play to build and audience.

Was Utah -4.5 or Atlanta -3 available at some point?  Hell yeah but for most people it's not anymore.  As far as I know, Hawks -3 was the opening line available last night but most people don't lock in plays the night before especially without injury reports.  

Again, what's the point guys.  Be classy/genuine about it.  We're all in it to win.

Hey whether they post picks with lines available or not, the majority of the picks posted here are based on simple guesswork and nothing else. So really what does it matter whether the picks posted are done with the lines available or not.

Welcome to Covers.  This is Standard Operating Procedure here, along with:

1)  Saying you went 14-2 your previous 16 picks (not posted) and including that in your record

2)  Making a new User Name until you happen to go 12-3, then going tout because Covers banned you because you were a winner

3)  Going 10-5 on -400 ML picks and pretending you are 10-5 on regular wagers

4)  Claiming to belong to s yndicate or work for a book or somewhere else where you have access to "inside info"

5)  Never losing a bet that wasn't fixed against you

6)  Saying you are going to be in it for the long haul and only bet 1 game a day for $100, then making and losing $100, $200, $500, $1200, and $2000 dollar bets within 24 hours

May I add a couple that i've picked up on since posting this thread?

7.  Whining about a team sucking or a wager that's going to lose when it's only the first quarter.  People! NBA is a game of runs.

8. People posting that a major underdog will win straight up.  Doing this every other day and boasting or acting sharp when it finally hits.  I guess easy to do with imaginary money.  Get a life.

For example, I've noticed this guy named League Capper does this a lot.  He'll post his spread play and usually sprinkles on the ml as well.  Which is fine but when it's an obvious loser and you know the ML has no chance why bother?  Just so you can act sharp if it hits?  For example he posts Knicks ML as a pick.  Wtf.

By the way, I'm not calling out that guy above after the fact.  Actually, I posted in this thread how silly the Knicks ML was before the game.  Furthermore, I posted Warriors -10 the night before.

I understand if people sincerely think the upset ML has a chance but it's obvious to me, especially when they do it repeatedly that some posters do it just because they can.  Imaginary money and all.

I don't know.

I just don't know. 

It's all good.
