I listen pretty religiously to the NBA Today podcast, and Tim Legler (who is fantastic, btw) was asked by Mike Yam if Jeremy Lin is in the top 10 PGs right now in the NBA. I immediately thought "absolutely not" and Legler, to his credit, said no. I thought about the question some more and asked: what PGs would I rather have over Jeremy Lin right now? Here's the list I came up with:
Derrick Rose Russell Westbrook Rajon Rondo Chris Paul Tony Parker Deron Williams Steve Nash John Wall Ricky Rubio Steph Curry
That's ten right there without even getting into guys like Jrue Holiday, Kyle Lowry, Ty Lawson, Mike Conley, Kyrie Irving, Darren Collison.
Lin isn't anywhere near the top 10 at his position yet, is he?

I think Rose is just a little overrated. Noway did he deserves the MVP over Lebron and I hate Lebron. NOONE not even Durant who I love should ever beat Lebron. I have never seen someone who just shows up and can basically give you a triple double every night if he wants. Imagine him if he played in triangle offense. Even though I dont like him because I think he could be even better if he wanted to be NIGHT IN AND NIGHT OUT; he is still the best there is. He never entered a dunk contest but I would put him up against the best in Vince Carter in his prime and Lebron would win. The guy is just a beast.

I think Chris Paul is the best pg in the league. But, with that said D Rose is the best fit for his teams and what his team needs than any other pg in the league. If you look at the Bulls they don't have anyother players that can create a shot for themselves. They need a scorer and someone who can bail them out.
Chris Pauls is best overall Point Guard though.

It's nearly impossible to declare a "best" PG because of the situations they are in. Rose, CP3, and D Will are clearly the top 3. As for Lin, you'd be better off listing the starting PGs that he is actually better than, it's not a very long list.

1) CP3 2) Deron Williams 3) Derrick Rose 4) Westbrook 5) Rondo
Theres also another way we could go with this, best true point guards and best scoring point guards. Best True point guards Rose and Westbrook wouldn't be in my top 5 but overall PGS they are.

But lin is in next group with lawson felton kidd nash curry
Tyreke Evans isnt even playing PG at the moment. He really is a SG with above average playmaking ability. I do love him as a player though hes explosive at getting to the cup.
